I suffered from depression for quiet some time.i was worst with it during my teens really.i know that a lot of teens exaggerate but i know from having been depressed in my teens myself that its a very real problem.how i finally came to deal with it was tru counselling.if you have a counsellor at your school you can go and see i would advise you to talk to him/her.it could very well help.school can be a very cruel and harsh enviroment for some people.i know how you feel about not wanting to tell your parents.i felt the same.my parents now know that i suffered bad in my teen years.i felt that back then they wouldnt of cared but they did.try and let them know that things arent great for you.maybe if you say straight out youre feeling like you are it might be too much for them to hear and you to say but let them know youre not entirely happy but my main advice would be to see if you can get talking to a counsellor and if you have a friend you can trust try talking to them aswell.it helps to talk and get stuff out of your system.best of luck :-)

You're not dumb and confused.

Some people are born insanely happy. And some people are born a little sad. It's just like eye color, some have blue and some have brown.

My husband had the same issues for years. He was finally diagnosed with depression and he is on anti depressants and he is MUCH MUCH better.

If you don't feel comfortable talking to your parents, talk to a school counselor, or a pastor, or an Aunt that you trust very much. Once you confide in them, they can help you talk to your parents. It's nothing to be embarrassed about.

One of your parents may even have a special insurance policy that will let you see a counselor or a psychiatrist or a psychologist. These people can help you sort out your feelings, and help you figure out how to help yourself.

Please don't wait. And remember, you are smart, you have made a great step asking for help.

Good luck!

Umm....I am the same age as you and I feel completely frustrated and helpless sometimes, but I cannot say I feel there is no point in my life and want to commit suicide. But I know many people who have felt like that before, know that you aren't alone.

How can your life be pointless? Don't you know God put you on this earth for a very important reason? I can assure you he did. I had a friend one time who told me he wanted to commit suicide, he was just tired of living. He didn't end up going through with it because he found out how truly amazing life could be. At this stage some people don't even want to listen, but you asked this question so obviously you wanted someone to talk to you about it.

Count your blessings. Life can be miserable when it feels pointless, so really get involved in something. Even offering emotional support to friends etc. can make your life feel so much more worth it.

I know that if I didn't believe in a God my life would be completely pointless.....

Find something. There must be something. YOUR thing. Something, someone, somewhere that makes life worth it for you.

Good luck with your future life, I know you won't go through with this. You'll learn that life means everything.

I went through the same thing, at the same age. I think it's a growing pain...just think of the positives you have, parents, friends, schools...there is so much ahead of you. Just ride out this storm...and the rain will let up. I promise. Find something you like to get your mind busy..scrapboking, painting, poetry...it will help.

First, if you are serious with your parents, they may listen to you. They are probably smarter than you think. If they won't, talk to a counselor at school. Or the YMCA/YWCA. Or your local community center. Or your local crisis line.

The key here is to talk to someone that will listen. It's a lot easier once you know you are not alone.
