Nobody has made the decision to pull out of Iraq. Any bill that will go across Bush's desk for that will be veto'd

Because we aren't pulling out. September is when the Progress Report is due. Then, Congress has to decide to defund the war, because they don't have the authority to move troops anywhere, and Bush will keep them there. Then, once they pass a bill to withdraw troops (or stop paying for the war), Bush will veto it, and they don't have the 2/3rd majority to override his veto. Then, they have to decide to either not give the poor SOBs over there the money to keep fighting, or they have to cave and pay them. Congress will pay up, because they aren't stupid enough to let pictures or complaints get home about how there is no ammo, or gas, or chow. So, this war is going to go on until at least January 20, 2009. And to be honest, even if the first order of the new president is to get the troops home, it will take a while. No one is going anywhere until at least February of 2009. Because of that, you have to train, since the troops are going.

I don't believe anyone said we're pulling out of Iraq in September. Congress hasn't even made a bill to scale down the troops in Iraq because President Bush will just veto every one of them. I think the thing you're hearing about "September" is the update that President Bush will receive that month about the status of his troop buildup. I even saw a news report that a commander said a troop reduction is highly doubtful.

The media is lying to you; it's "speculated" they'll be pulled, but just like any other time concentrated speculation, it ALWAYS lasts longer. My question is, why have we stopped searching for Bin Laden and upped the reward to $50 Mil? Here's the next question...Is Bin Laden the smartest person ever to live, because we've searched high and low, but no one has any leads on him, nor does anyone talk about him anymore... Kinda funny how the $50 Mil is open to the public, yet our troops and militaries don't have a clue. I have a funny feeling the government is keeping him hidden. It's become a game of hide and seek for money...that our government has started.

September is when the next progress report on Iraq is due, not a pullout date. There is still no date and the administration insists that the pullout will only begin when "conditions on the ground" dictate that to be the best move. September is when the administration will reevaluate the current troop surge stratagy to see if it is working or not.

Because until Congress forces a withdrawal, or until Bush agrees to a withdrawal, we are currently stilled deployed in an ongoing indefinite occupation.
So, troops are training based on the current status of the occupation, and not based on what might change in the coming months.

I think the most probable thing is they are sending in more troops for a fresh rotation. Even if we pull out, it will be done in stages and the troops there now need a break. Some have been there for 4 and 5 tours of duty.

in basic terms a be conscious on haterade's (first poster) remark: because of the fact the subsequent presidential election isn't until November, 2008 and the question is looking if troops will start up pulling out in April, 2008, his answer is... properly... merely stupid, to be magnificent approximately it. i think a investment invoice is being sent to the president that still has something in it approximately pulling troops out commencing in April, 2008. even however, Bush stated weeks in the past that if Congress sends him a invoice like that, he will veto it.

Jen, if you have not noticed lately, this nation is full blown schizophrenic multi-personality and insane. We have several nutcases in the White House and more infest both houses of congress, our Judges are just as insane and so also are police and military and churches, all of these great institutions are insane, going insane, making others insane. I know your smart, wake up.
