To theists… you know how everybody has a general perception of reality that is made from a combination of knowledge and belief and as both an individual’s and the group’s knowledge increase, it tends to encroach into the belief half of the perception; do you find yourselves denying knowledge to maintain your beliefs? I think it’s safe to say that your perception seems to be definitely in favor of belief, I’m curious; do you deny that you are denying and ignore your own ignorance?

Denial is VITAL to all believers. There is no proof, nor can any person anywhere present any. So, in this light the Bible and priests are the only contact with `truth` that believers will allow themselves. You will have noticed that believers are mostly anti-Science/Evolution/ Historical evidence/ liberal education, and any form of freethinking. Truth and education destroys superstition.

I am ignorant about a lot of things. I am big enough to admit it. But when an Atheist can look at a dictionary and see that there are definitions of certain words that may not include religion or define their belief as 'faith' , they seem incapable of separating religion from words like that. Even with the definition staring them in the face! So, yes, as you say, denial.

They act as if they are programmed, brain-washed, the VERY THING that they accuse religious people of. And I find that astounding. Very, very peculiar!

I've looked at several of the "objections" and "conflicts" with Christianity, and I've found either reasonable explanations or flaws for each. I don't have to deny knowledge to believe. I actually find that knowledge strengthens my belief.

do you deny that you are denying and ignore your own ignorance?
You're funny ;-)

So... I should believe the Earth is flat, that this planet/pizza is the center of the universe, that the stars are painted on a glass dome a few thousands of feet above us and this without any proof and forget all the nights I spent under my telescope?

I thinks you should really do the research out there and find out what's right for you, Also get the book From Darwin To Design and then make up your own mind.

Honestly, and I say this as an ex-athiest - I think it is the other way around. I think that science and research is uncovering the reality of God more than ever. To me God wants us to use the brains he gave us to search for Truth using logic and reason in fact the Bible tells us to.

It is only you that assumes ignorance in one who believes. I actually have a gift of knowledge that relatively few have. Not that it's to my credit; it has been given to me by the spirit of God.

why go into to denial? If you believe in something you should speak of it loud and proud. Only fools will go into denial because they are afraid of what will happen. Fear destroyed man, so why show it. That is my question why show fear of something you believe in.
