I've seen alot of people post on here claiming to believe in their church and the bible, yet those same people slam ghost questions saying there is no such thing as ghosts.

So, if one believes in the holy trinity, the holy spirit, or the holy ghost, how can one say there is no such thing as ghosts.

Ghosts are throughout the bible. Spirits, demons, angels, ghosts... all are there.

I personally am very curious and go so far as to ghost hunt with my wife and friends. I've seen and heard some very interesting things. And it has been enough to keep me wanting more. I have never subscribed to a religion and I would definitely define myself as an agnostic.

So, now that I've got that out of the way, back to the question.

How can one believe in the Holy Ghost/Spirit or the holy trinity without believing in ghosts and spirits?

Seems like one heck of a contradiction to me.

I agree, I'm a christian and I believe in ghosts. It does mention in the bible spirits of dead people being summoned.

I don't think there is much verification on the possible reality of ghosts in the Bible. In the Old Testament the people are forbidden from consultin the dead via mediums.

Old Testament - Saul consults witch of Endor and tries to summon Samuel's ghost; it could be a spirit though acting like Samuel.

New Testament. The disciples had a cultural belief in ghosts. E.g when Jesus walked across lake Galilee at one point they took fright and thought He was a ghost. In Acts, when Peter was freed from prison supernaturally, they so didn't expect this that they thought temporarily he was a ghost.

But generally the theology of the New Testament suggests human spirits do not abide on the Earth after death. Of course there are probably millions of devils and angels - spirit beings people can't normally see. The devils could act as ghosts if it suited their deceptive purposes.

Belief in ghosts remains common. I myself encountered some dark presence as a teenager which was something very scary indeed; never worked out what it was.

I ghost hunt too. I've seen many interesting things, but never an actual ghost. But saying that, I've seen more than the Most Haunted team. I once flash-photographed a dark corner of my garden after getting an uneasy feeling there, and the wall definitely had a vague shape (and I mean vague) of a young woman sitting.

Holy ghost? ....Nah.

In my opinion:
Normal ghosts are the past spirits of people who are alive. Sometimes you feel drawn to places you've never been?
This is the spirit of your past life calling you back. Without going back for your own spirit you are incomplete.

As for a divine spirit, that would require somebody alive today who is truly divine. Surely the 'new messiah' wouldn't be around without being noticed. Can you think of anyone who might be missing a holy ghost?

You've probably already noticed that I am not Christian, but more than willing to talk on Christian terms.

May peace go with you throughout your life.

EDIT: lol. I've just come up with a funny comment to add.

A spirit is not the same as a ghost. "Holy Ghost" is a poor translation for what the Bible calls the holy spirit (of God).

A ghost is supposedly some living part of a person who has died. The Bible does not support that idea.

Spirits, however -- like angels -- are produced or created directly by God. They do not come from people who have died.

There are no Ghosts. There are Spirits. Both good and evil. The Holy Ghost is an old term very seldom used today. The proper term is Spirit.

The Christian doctrine of the Trinity teaches the cohesion of pop, Son, and Holy Spirit as 3 persons in one Godhead. The doctrine states that God is the Triune God, latest as 3 persons, or in the Greek hypostases, yet one being.each and every of the persons is concept as having the single same essence or nature, not in straightforward terms comparable natures. because of the fact the beginning up of the 0.33 century the doctrine of the Trinity has been reported as "the single God exists in 3 persons and one substance, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I believe in the one, true God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As a Christian, I believe that there are good angels and bad angels (demons) in this realm. I woudn't call them "ghosts", because that refers to humans' souls that are left wandering around. Angels are spirits w/out bodies and are much more powerful than humans. I think that demons masquerade as "peoples' spirits" in order to trick us. I don't think there are "ghosts" in this world, because peoples' souls are judged by God and sent to heaven, hell, or purgatory. Be careful on ghost hunts, because you could be messing w/ demons! God bless.

I have experienced ghosts and also the Holy 'Ghost'.

I think that people are thinking that ghosts are people from the past. But I think that they are spirits of either demons or angels, or in the unique case: God.

That's been my experience anyway, and my opinion that I draw from those experiences.

I believe that in the case of the holy trinity, the 'holy spirit' or 'holy ghost' is supposed to be representative of one's personal connection to God and Faith. There is the Father (God), the Son (Jesus) and then the Holy Spirit (Your personal conviction to Faith). The idea that it has to do with supernatual beings is taking it out of context.
