The real messiah is supposed to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem; a huge challenge, considering that the Muslims built a mosque on that very site in order to prevent the rebuilding of the temple.

No. The Temple will be rebuilt ONLY when the true Messiah comes. He is the ONLY one who can rebuild the Temple, in fact this is one of the ways that we will know for sure that it IS the true Messiah. This is the prophecy given by God on Mt. Sinai and which we Jews have held sacred for over 3000 years.
I don't know what twist Christianity has put on it, but if it's anything other than that, it's completely incorrect.

The notion of an anti-christ is fiction. And there is no reason to care whether a temple gets rebuilt.

The temple will not be rebuilt. No where in the scriptures regarding end time prophecy does it say that it will be. This is a doctrine of devils.
