I have been running for half an hour to an hour every day and lifting weights (do about 50 reps a day) to tone my arms.

Have also started doing push ups in the last few days and I can feel thay working my arms. I was just wondering if this will help me with muscle defination and how long will it take to see results?

Thanks.

Im a little over average I would say but I have lost 2stone recently (still going for another) and I need to start toning my body. My arms are still a bit flabby and I hate themI heard push ups and boxing are the best for toning this area.

As I have no access to boxing equipment I decided to do 100 (or more) push ups a day. Not all at once but through out the day. Anywho I didnt exercise before this at all.

If this extra information helps.

I think it depends on a few things (for example how much did you weigh when you started? are you starting from zero activity or had you already been working out a bit?). A skinny person will not see results as immediately as an overweight person will. I'll speak from experience - I'm about average size and after a week and a half I could tell my body was changing and after about 2 1/2 weeks (of consistently working out) there was a visible change and beyond that things really shaped up quickly but then I reached a plateau that was really hard to get over (I lost 10 lbs and had a really hard time losing the last 5).

good luck, it's great you're working out.

You should notice small visual changes within 3 - 4 weeks. But don't look for miracles, building muscle is a long hard process. When you begin to feel stronger, up your workload (use heavier weights). Remember, do not over train, your muscles need rest to build.
I see a lot of people giving up after 2 -3 weeks.... just before the gain!

The longer you determine, the longer it takes, however the higher the outcome. If you do four hours an afternoon it might take at any place from a couple of weeks to a month or 2. Results traditionally exhibit up slowly, so should you appear intently you'll be ready to peer a few outcome.

your diet will ultimately determine how quick you see the physical results from your training. the more healthy the diet the faster physical changes will occur
