Wondering what it is that you are missing?

Then ask Jesus how to be happy, thankfully he has already told us:

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Matthew Chapter 5

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth

away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (continued)

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

God comforts the broken hearted, and casts down the prideful.

Ever wondered why the poor are the most happy? It has nothing to do with money, and everything to do with God.

Lend your faith to our Lord God, and his son Jesus, the Savior, and find out what it means to be Truely happy, not worldly happy.

May God bless all who anwered my question.

I don't necessarily like money, but I realize that it's necessary for survival. I need to purchase goods and services and money allows me to do so, but I don't live for making money.

Sex is fine so long as people are safe. Why repress our physical desires? Sex can be exciting, romantic, fulfilling, and even a bonding experience. Why limit this to married couples? And no, I don't live for sex. People who do "live for it" are addicted and should be counseled.

You have a problem with "fun"?? How sad. I don't live for fun either. Seems you're really not hitting the nail on the head.

Drinking, well, I never touch alcohol. I don't have a big problem with people drinking, but I think there should be stricter limits on how much can be served at restaurants and bars. Too many leave those places dangerously intoxicated.

Knowledge? You have a problem with that too? It's our desire to learn and understand that has lead to our advancements in medicine, agriculture, housing, etc. I don't mind if someone "lives for knowledge". They'll probably be an asset to humanity.

Addiction is a destructive behavior. That's why there are clinics to help detox and rehab. No one considered addiction a "good" thing.

Video games and TV? SERIOUSLY??

Look, those Beatitudes are nice for you and all, but they aren't a universal roadmap to contentment. No, really, your deity isn't going to make everyone happy. It's demonstrably true.

I live for friends, family, love, laughter, learning, writing, books, good music, and the sheer joy of being alive in this world. And I'm very happy, thank you. I don't watch tv, don't play video games, and have no addictions to alcohol. I've never even tried smoking, let alone any other drugs.

I know that it's assumed that every non -believer leads a hedonistic and self-destructive lifestyle, but that is an unfair stereotype.

Knowledge should not be on your list. Knowledge is a very worthy pursuit, and many Christians will tell you that as well.

I presume this was directed at us atheists and non believers?

Well I am an atheist and for your information, I have only had sex with one person - my fiance. I don't drink often, about once a week and then it is only about two drinks. 'Knowledge' for me was a high school certificate, with I passed with flying colors, I do research on various issues, but don't collect degrees etc like postage stamps. I don't play video games...we dont have the money for an x box etc, and I am quite happy without one. As for 'addiction'...I have NEVER taken drugs, not even smoked a cigarette and my doctor complains about what a hard time she has getting me to take PRESCRITION meds. The only TV I watch is after all my work for the day is done and I am about to go to sleep.
And fun...what the heck is wrong with fun? I have plently spending my days with the person I am in love with. Where does it say in the Bible that we can't have fun??

Things are different in my life compared to what it use to be.
I don't lack although I'm not rich.
Sex is awesome when you are living right with God , it is what He created between husband and wife, only
I've been dry for 22 years no drinking and smoking pot...addictions. Use to love it, literally!
TV very little unless it's news... movie on occasion, not much descent anymore.
Video games...never was enthused.
Happy, content, peace even through the hard times I have what I need with the presence of God in my life.<><

I live for love, knowledge, contemplation, and existence. I enjoy sex, TV, good food, movies, books, music, photography, and the Internet. I'm not missing anything I can't afford.

You're quotes are mis-guided, naive and antiquated. Try joining the 21st century.

You must have a pretty crappy god if he condones misusing this site and ignoring the terms of service.

This wasn't really a question, so here are a few:

Did you know that there is a difference between your beliefs and the objective truth?

Did you know that not knowing this makes christians seem incredibly unintelligent and narrow minded?

Did you know that your jesus is just a rehash of earlier, cooler gods?
