For the past month or so thats been all I will eat. Just some bread, lots of water, veggies and fruit. I know this isn't healthy....but the thought of anymore food makes me feel nauseous. And I'm not thin or anything (I'm a size 24....yea) this all started about a year ago just trying to watch everything I eat and developed into this. I also work out about two hours a day. My questions are why do I feel sick thinking of food, and what will happen as I countiue into this. I cant just make myself eat and I don't know what will happen. I was at the doctor yesterday (I was really dizzy and blacking out) and they couldn't find anything wrong with me. They just told me to eat and drink lots, but I cant make myself.
So...
What to do...

Sorry I ramble.
Thank you for your time.

I want to say I have an eating disorder...But I'm not thin. Most people with eating disorders are like, a size 2. And so people don't think I do have one (just that I'm on a diet) and I don't feel like I need to stop it. Can it even hurt me that bad being I need to loose the weight?

You have anorexia nervosa...congrats. Those were the same symptoms I had. It starts out as a little diet, then becomes a life-threatening illness. Tell the doctor you can't make yourself eat, and ask to be sent to an eating disorder facility. If you're under 18, then ask your parents to do so. Trust me, in the long run, it's worth getting over this disease. Anorexia doesn't just involve skinny people, there are many normal people that are suffering this disease as well. Good luck. Remember, you have to eat or you're going to die.You can do this.

Based on your additional comments, the answer is YES. With not enough calories, your body will begin converting fat stores into calories and enegry...but it will need to convert more fat at one time than is healthy. This will cause a poisonous ketone liquid to form as a byproduct of fat burning, which will cause the body to shut down. Please, get help!!

sometimes when you lessen your amount of calories your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto fat for protection.
That's why the experts say to eat 6 small meals a day and eating no lower than 1200 calories. You will lose weight that way and be Heather. You will have more energy too.
Also you probably already do this but wright down every calorie intake. It ends up being more than you think. Wright down everything you eat even liquid.
Talking to a professional nutritionist might be a good idea too, a eating disorder can be dangerous no matter what size you are.

I won't tell you how it's unhealthy. I think you already know that. I WILL tell you that you're likely to lose a lot of muscle, and then you'll hit a wall. You won't lose anything more. This is because when you go under 1200 calories a day, your body goes into "starvation mode." Most of the calories taken in will be stored as fat because the body thinks it needs to save energy. It slows your metabolism to keep pace with what you're giving it. Your best bet is to exercise (bike-riding for 30 minutes a day is a great plan!), stay above 1200 calories, and get most of your calories from natural, unrefined foods. Make sure to get enough fiber (35+ grams) and protein (your weight x 0.34, in grams of protein) and those will also help you lose weight, as well as maintain muscle and increase metabolism. Good luck :)

just becuz u arent thin, doesnt mean u cant have an eating disorder. u probably know that people who are anoexic are (in extreme cases) just bones and skin. they didnt start out like that, but they lost that weight becuz of their disorder.
talk to your doctor about this, and also try to talk to a nutritionist and therapist. the three of them should be able to help you eat regularly again and find a much healthier way to lose weight effectively

You can have an eating disorder and not be thin. It sounds like you are developing anorexia. Speak to your doctor about it and ask for referrals for treatment (which will not necessarily be medical). Good luck.

same happened to me when i only wanted to lose 10 lbs. and ended up losing 25 and ended up being too skinny. what's happening is that if you starve yourself for long enough your stomach shrinks and can't tolerate much food anymore. so get professional help and lose weight the healthy way.
