It means that animals breed true to type... Dogs beget dogs, monkeys beget monkeys, humans beget humans, and evolution is bunk.

This means that when a plant or animal reproduces, you get another of the item you started out with.

So, if you plant seeds from an apple, you get an apple tree rather than an orange tree.

If two mice reproduce, you get a litter of new mice (not giraffes).

It means that, say, a dog will only give birth to a dog. In other words a species will only give birth to its own kind. That flies into the face of evolution, doesn't it?

The children are the same "kind" as the parents.
It does not refute the possibility of evolution.
When God says "Let the earth bring forth the creatures of the sea" and let them reproduce after their own kind. I think it is discribing evolution.

It means that an oak tree will produce an oak tree, not something different, or a dog will produce (reproduce) a dog and no other species or thing.
