dont you ever think that sometimes stuff just doesnt make sence? you have to have faith, like the air you breath, why out of all the planets there is we are the only onces with life on it?, nothing about life really makes sence and it never will, so why try to force it to? everything works though, and some big boom could not make it work as well as it all does. so why not try to just have a little faith?

I'm sorry, I don't need faith to prove there is air that we breathe, it has been proven. And seeing as how there are many, many galaxies that are beyond our capabilities of reaching so far, what makes you so sure this IS the only planet with life on it? I agree faith will get you so far in certain areas, but come on, just saying you have faith isn't good enough all the time.

"nothing about life really makes sence and it never will, so why try to force it to?"

If everyone felt that way, humans would still be living in caves. If someone got sick, they'd probably die. And, more people would get sick because we wouldn't know what causes disease. Everyone would just throw up their hands and say, "Some stuff just doesn't make any sense."

Questioning leads to knowledge. Knowledge leads to innovation. Innovation leads to more questions . . .

Faith is a brick wall. Faith says "There are no answers, so why question anything?"

some things don't make sense, true. but people want things to make sense, so they search for the answer. and so far, we are the only planet that we know of that has life on it. if we knew where every planet in our galaxy was, i guarantee you we would find life on another planet. and thats just in our galaxy. and yes, some big boom, big bang, could make it work as well as it does. and it happened. the nothingness of space is still heated 3 degrees above absolute zero because of it. the universe isnt even done cooling off from it. and the earth was not just popped out of this big bang. the earth was made by gathering dust being pulled together thanks to gravity. it took millions of years to be made and here it is.

and i think your real question should be:
why do so many people have everything based on something illogical?

im sorry i just totally disagree with your statement.
please respect my opinion, as i respect yours

I'm sorry...but that is ridiculous. If everyone had your mindset, we would be stuck in the dark ages without any of the current technology or medicine we have now.

There is an explanation for things. Sometimes that explanation is hard to find. Why not just try and put a little effort into finding answers rather than kicking back and saying, "I don't understand it, so god did it."

I happen to agree with you.
People just want to believe that they are ultimately in control of things. And for a lot of them, God is content to let them go on thinking that, and reason themselves right out of existance. Great! So much the better! (More for me, I say, more for me.)

Just look at the vehemence of these responses! It's as if you just kicked their pet Komodo Dragon, and pulled off it's tail, or something. Oh, no! Nonsense? TRUTH??? That's BLASPHEMY! Don't you know who I AM???
Quick, silence that voice! Make it go away! Off with her head!
You get the drift...
Here's a little hint, (but keep it to yourself):

Out of all the planets we are the only one with life on it... which implies that the chances of life happening are actually quite small, and that looking at the entire universe, things aren't working out so well for all the thousands of lifeless planets that have been discovered...

What you actually ARE saying is that sometimes we should all believe something that is really stupid.

And all the things you list (air? Since when did air not make sense?) are all much more explicable in logical terms. You're just not making the effort. And God makes no sense.

"Stuff" makes perfect sense in Buddhism, to me. I don't have to have "faith" beyond the analytical examination that I do of what's observable. I don't have to force anything at all, logic comes quite easily and much more so than blind faith.

Logic is a foundation for believeing in God. God is orderly (logical). Yes, his 'logic' is superior to our logic. As a matter of fact, if more 'Christians' were 'logical' we might get the 'illogical stuff' cleaned out of Christianity, and bring Atheist, Agnostics, and others to Christ without us explicitly trying to 'sell' them (cram it down their throats in their terms) on the idea , thruout the world at that time.

Yeah a big boom doesn't make sense to you, but a talking snake in a tree does...ok.
