I am interested in doing some volunteer work in the United States. I do a bunch of different things locally and am interested in reaching out to a different area who may be in greater need. I know that there is still a lot of stuff going on in New Orleans but are there any other areas that anyone is aware of that is in devistation? Or in need of builders, cleaners, planters, etc, etc.? Please let me know!

Thanks everyone!

There are always projects in need of support from volunteers. The Hands On Network has been leading various projects to help rebuild our communities. While there is a lot of activity in the rebuild of New Orleans, there are also some other projects that you can find through the local affiliates.

You can check out some of the local projects that are available in places that you would like to help:

You can also learn more about the issues here:

You might be able to start some projects in your local community.

Good luck!

I like volunteering with challenged people most. They are so sweet and funny. Just call a assisted group living facility near you if your interested. I had to have a background check and sign some papers. Mostly they need somebody to help them go out shopping or to movies, games or concerts.
