My last question depressed the c*** out of me.

I don't know many adults who still really play. They compete but don't really play just for fun. For some reason many folks stop having fun.

I frequently get accused of being an over grown kid. Which in my book…. Is a compliment.

Playing and being a kid at heart is what keeps you young, and life fun!!!!! And also keeps you sane, LOL!!!! If you can't cut loose and laugh at yourself or just enjoy the little things in life you will be so serious and really depressed!!!!!

Great Question!!!!

I skydive despite "issues"

I splashed about in a wading pool this weekend just for fun

I frequently throw myself into large snowdrifts (in season, obviously)

I have a water gun at work :) that gets used from time to time

I play Playstation games with a friend

etc etc

geez....I sound like I'm 12.....I wish!! But I love doing silly things! Otherwise, what's the point? Even my mother and I throw water balloons when I visit.

I played sports year 'round until 8 years ago which I had to give up because it became too tough on my knees (hockey - goalie & baseball - catcher with soccer in between). I still get on my skates though in the winter and coach a special olympics team and I get out and play with the kids & adults on the team. Occasionally I'll go take out my frustrations on golf balls at the driving range also.

Yes. I work with kids, and we play games, I play with my dog, I go hiking and biking with friends and my boyfriend, I love to go bowling, play cards & Scrabble, and even some online games.

So playing still plays a part in my life.

And regarding your last question, just remember that parents who grieve a change in culture from one generation to the next have been around for ages. Parents have grieved when their kids married outside their nationality or their faith, grieved when one of their kids came out of the closet as gay, grieved when their children decided to move away from their home town, and even grieved when their children changed political parties.

In every group there are some whose life-perspective is so entrenched that they cannot comfortably see outside of it. Sometimes it's leaving their religion, other times it's leaving another component. Same process, different content. Some parents are controlling, and it doesn't much matter what the issue is, they need to have control.

I know what you mean =) yeps I play a lot, most of the time with my bf && then when I'm alone either just by myself or with the cat ^_^ she likes chasing shadows and batting things around when someone bats them back to her (: and I like running and rolling around and jumping all over the place && hiding just so someone can find me ....and I agree, it's a huge compliment, as long as it's also assumed that you can be mature somtimes ;)

I still play video games. I play fetch and tug of war with my dog. Every time I'm around kids in the family, they drag me off to go play some type of game or make-believe. All work and no play makes me a dull gal.

Yes. What's this? What's this? What do my eyes behold?

You asked a real question. Everyone can get over it. That has been a real situation for people before.

Without play, what's the use in being?

I don't really 'play,' but I pretend-to with disabled kids, three and four-year-olds, who, with a parent or guardian, are part of my theatre company's programs for children. I have 'pretend' tea parties down to a science.

every day - otherwise, what would be the point in waking up?

edit: I don't like to compete much - it brings out my bad side! (heh-heh) But I love to play all the time - my kids said they're gonna put 'we never had to take any of it seriously' on my headstone...

my hubby and i play video games and paintball and board games have tickle wars and all kinds of childish things.

we actually played duck duck goose the other day. lol.

i can't wait til we have kids. they'll be all "mommy, daddy, but i don't wanna play anymore. i'm tired!" and we'll be all, "come on, one more round of freeze tag. pleeeeeease."

btw-your last question didn't make me sad so much as it made me want to throw up. people are sick.
