Okay, there is a new resturant opening on Wed. called Southern Hospitality on 1460 2nd Avenue, between 76th and 77th. And I check mapquest it says it 8 mins from the broadway theater. Does anyone know this is a fact cause i'm not sure, i could have check the wrong thing??

They aren't really that close to each other. Southern Hospitality is on the upper east side and the Broadway theater (where the color purple is playing at 1681 Broadway at 52nd st) is at the top of the theater district and around curtain time in a taxi will take you around 20 minutes to a half an hour. Even the train could take about half an hour if you take the 6 from 77th and Lexington to 59th and take the N to 51st and Broadway.
This is where mapquest steers you wrong because technically on a Sunday morning you might be able to make it in that short of time but realistically you never will, You could spend 8 minutes going two blocks in traffic. Depending on what day you were doing this, I would budget 45 minutes to get there which would allow you time to get there and get inside and seated before curtain time. You may make it in 20 minutes if you get train or traffic karma but you never know and it would be a shame to miss the opening of the show because you got stuck in traffic or on a train.
