I would get the bedding/curtains that you like and then if you can't find a rug to match, just go with a neutral tone that will go with anything, should you decide to redo your room in a couple years. Good Luck!!

First look at the places you plan on shopping for these items. Then see if they have all the items that you can match up together. Then decide which is the most necessary. If it were me, I'd pick the drapes & bedding. This way you have your room looking fairly normal & functional. Then when you can, go back to the same place you purchased it all and get the rug. If they change their products often, you may want to tell them ahead of time to hold that rug for a later time, if possible.

I'd choose colours that go together rather than match exactly. Then it doesn't matter which you buy first, you should always be able to find the other in a harmonious colour. And also it won't look "too matched". I'm not sure which colours you're thinking of, but you could do something like taupe for one and deep burgundy for the other, or hot pink and chocolate, or whatever. If you're NOT trying to match a chocolate with a chocolate, it's not so critical that you get exactly the right tone, as there will be a range of chocolates that will look good with the hot pink (or whatever colours you choose).
And my personal taste: forget curtains, they're very old-fashioned. Roman blinds or timber venetians are much more contemporary.

I would buy the rugs first as they are your major purchase and the other soft furnishings would need to go with them as they are not easily replaced. If you went for a neutral colour rug you will find that more goes with it for example White or cream or brown or black. these colours go with almost anything. Then if you decide to change your colours in the room the rug can still match.

I would definitely buy the bedding first. Once you do you'll be surprised how many rugs will blend. The rug shouldn't be the focal point anyway, just an anchor for the room.

I would get the rug first, because the rug is prob. going to be more expensive and it will prob. be easier to find curtains to match the rug.

i'd get the bedding and curtains first. they're the focal point of the room. it's always easy to find a solid colored rug to pull the room together.

I would buy the area rugs first because there are less variety and you can't customize easily.
