I moved from London England to the US a long time ago now, almost three years ago, I moved so I could be with my american boyfriend, we got married and shortly after I became pregnant with my daughter, I didnt file for my immigration papers immediately, as we just couldnt afford it, after being here for now almost three years I am very close to getting my work permit and social security number so I can learn how to drive and get around on my own, my problem is that I have basically been housebound for three years and I have no friends here and I am sooooo bored outta my skull I often find it hard to breath, I need ideas for things that I can do (in the house) to keep me from going insane, I live in AZ and its too hot at the moment to even contemplate going outside, I am depressed and don't know how to be happy anymore, dont say go to the doctor or anything like that I can't afford it firstly and secondly all the FREE programs aren't available to me because of my immigrant status help!

Well one thing that I can suggest is that since you have access to the internet is to find an online support group...there are all types for stay at home moms, depressed people, people who are new to an area.......etc...I have been in your position. I moved to a new area, I was in the house all day...and I know what is is like to feel trapped.....Does your hubby not spend anytime with you? Do you not go out as a couple? Maybe you can look into doing something that is an at home job...I used to do vacation rentals via the internet and I enjoyed it and made a pretty good living at it...It sounds as though you are a little depressed....and finding just one good friend or someone to talk to would help out alot...have you ever thought of an email pen pal? If you are interested, I would love to be your email pen pal...:) I am a at home mother as well...and I find a great amount of relief in just being able to talk to someone when I am having a bad day. You are from Europe and I have always wanted to go there, maybe we can share stories....you never know....but either wat I wish the best for you and I hope that you find something that helps you occupy the time......If you want to exchange emails, send me a message via answers and I will send you my email address...Good luck

You've made a start by asking here. There are a lot of great websites that you can visit to find something to pass the time and make friends. You can either go with an online multiplayer game (yahoo's Puzzle Pirates is fun and free..tell them spotsknight sent ya) or if you don't like games but would like someone to talk to, there are tons of web based chatrooms. I met lots of great friends online. I eventually even married one but that was not my goal. I was just looking to pass some time.

When I say chat rooms I don't mean the dating websites I mean honest friendly chat with real people from all over the world. There are even chat rooms that focus on certain people so if you are missing London life, you can find a chat room where everyone is either in or from London. (http://www.ukchatterbox.co.uk/chat/london is just one example)

Usually from Sept. -May. and possibly other months
there is a program called MOPS Mothers of PreSchoolers.
Usually it is held in churches. It is very low or no cost, where there is a chance to have your child in a class for her own age and you have the opportunity to meet other young moms, listen to speakers, do crafts, etc.

I believe you could contact Mops or MopsInternational via your computer and find one in your area.

Don't worry too much about the transportation - likely someone would be very willing to give you a ride.
