Are some wineries more environmentally-friendly than others? How do I find out which ones have the best environmental track record?

CA wineries are very environmentally friendly. My only source is Wine Spectator and the local newspaper. The wineries pride themselves on being eco-friendly. It's not like the midwest where there are pesticides on corn all the time. Wine is very organic. About the only thing wineries use is a fungicide if the weather is too moist.

The expansion of California wineries is carefully controlled and it is often that the expansion is to a defunct or private winery that will benefit from working with a larger group. As a whole California's wineries are very environmentally conscious and they work to develop and enforce environmental safety regulations that might put their crops at risk.
