If you don't believe in God, that's fine. I don't care to hear your opinion of how you don't think He exists.

But to everyone else, do you realize when you call someone ugly, it's like slapping God in the face?

It's like telling Him you don't appreciate His creation, and the way that person looks isn't up to your standards of how a person should look. Society has created such a image of how a person should look. I think it's sick. What are your opinions on this statement?

I didn't come up with this statement by the way. I got it from a man at my church - Robert Baxter.

God's creation is wonderful and we are all part of that creation, so yes I understand what you are saying. I think, however, a statement such as this shows a deeper disrespect of the individual him/herself. Such a statement is a statement of hate meant to belittle and hurt or to poke fun at someone else simply to make the person who said it feel better about theme self. God does not care about our surface, he cares about our heart, and if I am to emulate God in my life I will seek to know the inner person, rather than the outer. That's what counts anyway.

But, remember God creates a canvas...and we should do the best we can with the canvas we have been given.

We should not allow our canvas to fall into a state of disrepair because of neglect...we should watch what we eat, exercise regularly and take care of our "temple of God". We should be the best we can be...within the confines of what God has given us.....and yes we should appreciate the beauty of all of God's creations....

But, look at the ocean and how beautiful it can be...but, look at the pollution that man has put into the ocean....same with your body...God gave you a body to take care of...do you fill it with donuts, McDonalds and junk food...do you keep it idle in front of the computer? Or do you do healthy things and take care of the vessel?

Glad my opinion means so little to you, due to my atheism. Probably because Id go and point out the OBVIOUS to you...

I don't think that anybody is "ugly" just to look at them.
Sometimes people act ugly though, and since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then I will think that person is ugly if they present themselves as subhuman. That is, as not having any of the grace of humanity in them.

I wouldn't call a person ugly because I respect people. I saw one poor guy who was born with all kinds of genetic deformities. It wasn't respect for gods creation that made me feel pitty for the poor guy.

I tend to agree with your statement.

It also applies to forgiveness, that is, to forgive ourselves after we have ask Jesus to forgive us.

Holding onto guilt and not forgiving ourselves is another form of pride, pride is a sin and a slap in the face of God.

Who are we to not forgive ourselves when God has forgiven us? It's self imposed punishment...

Just something to ponder...

People grow out of it - at least most people who mature do.
I can't think of the last time I really thought about someone being unattractive...

You do realize there are wars going on....people killing other people? People dying of starvation by the thousands.

Calling someone ugly....if there is a God....I don't think He cares.
