The Kai Tak used to be Hong Kong's airport, it was famous for angled approaches and was shut down in 1998.

Awsome airport. Even though it was one of the hardest and most terrirfying approaches, (known as the checkerboard appoach) many pilots and people will miss it dearly.

Very nice airport. It is easy to get tp town by txi door to door or by rail and pick your stop and take taxi. Most hotel have pick up at the rail stations.

Download and install Google Earth and take a look at it. It has a lot of buildings on what was once the runway.
