I really want to paint my room, and my parents said yes! I can't change my sheets, so I want to find a color to match. I have sage/ lightish green sheets. I really want to paint my room a pumpkin color with light cream and black accents (like the curtains black and white) do these colors match?

Great colour scheme.

The pumpkin. Use a lighter tone. On the walls.
The cream. Use everywhere you can.
The black. Use as accessory colour only.

Result - you should have a very sophisicated room.

The 'pumpkin' is a bit dark - may want to go a bit lighter.
Be careful with pumpkin and black - may get a Halloween effect.
Any peach/coral/light orange will match the sheets nicely.
Maybe paint the room peach with 'your' pumpkin trim?
Curtains in cream; with peach, pumpkin, or sage tiebacks, would look great. If you use a print with black and cream, make sure it has a bit of the sage or pumpkin in it.
What color is the comforter/duvet/bedspread? Same as the sheets?
Add some throw pillows in the wall shade, the sage, and the cream, or black.
What color/material is the floor?
Make sure the bedding and curtains complement each other by using same shades.
Add other small accessories in sage, wall color, cream, or black.

I have black bedroom furniture and I just painted the walls the Sage green. It is awesome. The pumpkin color would be good it just depends on if you want it bright and fun. Or calming and relaxing I find the sage very soothing. I also put a small water fountain in my room. It's like an oasis. Hope this helps.

If your bedroom is rather large then the pumpkin & green will look just fine as is, but if your room is on the small size, then use lighter shades of the pumpkin & green. I don't care much for black, especially in curtains. Maybe a few black throw pillows & a small black throw rug would be nice accents.

i think the problem with the pallet is that it's a little flat. i would suggest painting as you've described, but on the wall where you get the most natural sun light, or on the most focal wall, top your paint with a mixture of equal parts glaze and ralph lauren bronze paint. it will add an unbelievable shimmer without darkening the color too much. you'll get great depth. go to the link in sources, I'd suggest golden candle sticks or golden light. the stuff is expensive, so go to your local diy store and look at the paint chips and promotional material carefully. if you buy it, you'll be mixing 1/2 the can in a painters bucket and thinning it with an equal part glaze. apply over the (dried) pumpkin paint.

i just did this with a similar color in my living room, it looks amazing.

i think the colors are a good combination, but maybe lighten the pumpkin color a tad bit. I would not do a lot of white or cream. maybe just in small small accents like in pillows or drapes or something. do not do solid black and white curtains. black curtains with a toile white pattern would be better. solid black and white is a theme of itself and does not mix well with the pumpkin and sage colors. but the black alone does and small accents of white or cream will not overbear.

Girl ... you're doing just fine! A professional decorator would have come up with the same scheme -possibly changing the pumpkin to more of a pinkish color; otherwise, don't change a thing -you hit it right!

you have to imagine those colors large as life... here http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l153/aycm8620/large.jpg I expanded them Now you have to imagine that all over your walls. Personally speaking that rust color you provided looks more like an accent color than a main color but that's just my opinion. That black you provided is a standard black in my opinion and there's nothing bad or good to say about it.
