"We are all illegals here unless you are an American Indian". According to the United States government I am an American citizen, not illegal, but I am not an American Indian. In case you haven't heard, this country is not owned by American Indians. I am not considered illegal by my country, am I considered illegal only by liberals who want amnesty for illegal immigrants? Yes at one time American Indians roamed the plains, but that was over 100 years ago and things have changed. I'm not saying it was right to take over their land and put them on reservations, but that's the way it is. Every country has been taken over at one time or another through out history. Bottom line, illegal immigrants have no right to be here and they are hurting the American people.

Jessa, I stand corrected, "Native Americans" is what I meant.

Bottom line you are right about illegal aliens, they do hurt the American people and our way of life. No one was ever here before anyone else because before we became a nation this was a frontier. No laws to speak of and people roamed freely, we are now a nation not a frontier and we don't need illegals to upset the American way of life and values, etc. Go home and do it legally or just go home and stay home. Deport illegal aliens now.

I've never heard the claim that anyone who isn't a native American is an illegal. What I have heard is that anyone who isn't a native American is either an immigrant or a descendant of immigrants. Two different assertions, you see.

The last six presidents Democrat and Republican ignored this issue as it got worse and worse over 30 years.

Illegal immigrants are entrenched in society. It is almost to late to adress this issue.

It is absurd to think we could round up and deport and much as 30 million people. We'd darn near have a civil war on our hands.

The only solution is to enforce and strengthen existing criminal penalties on the corporations that hire illegals, large and small.

Any bill that does not have that provision is worthless and will accomplish nothing or is just another form of amnesty

Both the House and Senate do not want to include this obvious provision in their bills. They are too beholden to corporations to fund their campaigns. They'll never do it.

We need to end all corporate campaign funding directly and by lobbyists or this issue and many others the people want addressed will never be.

Okay, I agree with you about not being an illegal since we are citizens... but Indians, live in India... My people are "Native" Americans :) The only American Indians are the ones who immigrated here from India and became citizens :) Just thought you should know... And yes the illegals here ARE hurting the AMERICAN people!!!

I agree. We live in the year 2007, not 1857.
The Native Americans were vanquished and the American settlers and cavalry were the victors for control of what's now the United States. The Americans were not merciful in their treatment of the NAIndians. However the Indians FOUGHT and lost.

The Mexicans FOUGHT the USA and lost for control of the Southwest from Texas to California. Now, the poorest of the poor, unskilled, uneducated and UNWANTED Mexicans are back ...only...they forgot they lost.

They have no money and no power of cash control. Therefore they come to USA with their hands out demanding a hand-out. They are unwanted by both countries and have no loyalty to USA.

Hmm geez I dont know where I belong then....I'm Native American/Hispanic, born in Italy on a military base....My dad was in the US Navy for 23 years, and I am married to an Army Medic. So I'm patriotic....I'm a citizen of the United States. Given my background....does that make me more American than you?

Funny how you reinforce your point with "thats the way it is". Let a bunch of illegals come into America and take over your land and force you to live on a reservation then in a hundred years tell you, thats the way it is, get over it. Seems like the majority always have least to complain about and when they do complain, its for a ridiculous reason.

Immigrants are not hurting anyone, its xenophobia and lack of intelligence that is hurting "Americans" (white people).

That's just what the Native Americans said.

Bottom line.....if the Native Americans had kept slaughtering the Europeans as they arrived illegally on their shores, you wouldn't be here.

And, while you are American by citizenship, you are still descended from immigrants....

And, if "illegal immigrants" weren't suppose to be here - why has the government not done anything for almost 100 years except grant amnesty.

Who is to say that this country might evolve into a predominantly Spanish-speaking country in 300 years?

Life goes on. We are ALL part of the passing scene.

Quote...."Every country has been taken over at one time or another through out history"

Then why are bigots always crying that Hispanics are taking over this country? That's a bit hypocrital isn't it??

Just like everything else in history:

The Americans beat the Indians in a war, and so they took over.

Now, it's not politically correct to be a bully ("We all should be nice to each other"), which is why it is not politically correct to be a patriotic American.

It's also why America is paralyzed to do anything against the Mexican invasion that we're currently seeing.

SE HABLA ANGLAIS.
