I'll make this short. I have 2 cars. Both run equally well. A 1995 Cadillac Deville with 206,000 miles and a 1998 Hyundai Sonata with only 48,000 miles. Remember, both run great. Need to sell one. Which one would you keep?

Neither one is worth much, but think of it this way... Would you rather drive a 12 year old car with over 200,000 miles, or a nine year old car with 1/4 the miles? Since neither one is worth much, it comes down to more a choice of making the logical decision of which is most likely to last longer. The newer car with lower miles is more likely to last longer and less likely to break down.

True, both cars run good now, but at 200,000 miles, the Caddy is more likely to have a transmission go out, an engine need repair, etc.

Also, some people are wild about vintage Caddy's and Town Cars. Even with the miles, the Caddy will be an easier sell than the Hyundai becuase it will appeal to a broader audience.

Sell the Caddy.

Keep the Sonata because your older car has a WHOLE lot of more miles than the sonata and is older so it has a more likely chance of breaking down and having problems even though it runs well now. So it comes down to getting more money from the Sonata and keeping a car that will probably need more maintenance, or selling a car for less money and keeping a car that is reliable. The Sonata is generally more reliable than the Cadillac anyways.

Oldest one with the most miles. Simple the 4.5 liter Cadillac engine or the Northstar engine cost a lot to repair. Save gasoline with the Hyundai. And the Sonata has 4 doors just in case.

My first option would be to keep the Sonata. Newer and fewer miles means it is that much further away from a breakdown. Of course, like another answerer said, you might also want to see how much you'd get for the two cars together. You might get enough for a NEW car, or a very large down payment on a NEW car, with small monthly payments (if you want to do that).

Sell them both and get a new car. Y does the Hyundai only have 48,000 miles on it. I wouldn't buy that becuase the mileage is too low. It screams of odometer tampering

Keep the Hyundai without a doubt.

silly question.
with 206,000 on a car that has a max life span of 250,000 you do the math.

does the hyundai have a cup holder.

Dump the Caddy. Too many miles. Major repairs in the future.
