Yes. There is.

Anal cancer is on the rise in both sexes, and changing trends in sexual behavior - combined with current tobacco use and infection by a specific strain of the HPV - human papillomavirus - may help explain the increase. These findings, by researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, found that incidence rates of anal cancer due to anal sex have increased significantly in the past 30 years, jumping 160 percent in men and 78 percent in women.

HPV -is a well-known sexually transmitted viral marker of anal cancer - in both blood and tumor tissue. It also assessed the impact of various lifestyle factors associated with the disease, such as smoking, sexual orientation, number of sexual partners and history of anal intercourse.

Other risk factors associated with increased anal-cancer risk included gay or bisexual orientation among men, a high number of lifetime sexual partners and a history of receptive anal sex. The study also suggested that the overall increase in anal cancer rates might be partially attributable to an increase in the average number of lifetime sexual partners and an increase in the number of people engaging in anal sex, particularly among women. -

Yes ,

The mechanism is traumatizing of mucosal layer and inoculation of STD viruses such as HPV16,18 inside the recipient rectal epithelial layer , that is a strong cancer predisposer . Also other viruses such as HIV , HCV & HBV are cancer predisposer of specially organs other than rectum .

You may ask if you use condoms !? the answer is the traumatizaion by itself , also will predispose epithelial layer to harmful oxidative molecules that is situated in the stool , but the contribution is not as such as HPV .

This is an interesting question. I wonder if damage to the rectum could eventually cause cancer there as well. Bruises have shown to cause cancer, and if you bruised yourself internally especially if it was aggressive sex than I would think there could be a possibility. Unlikely I would think but I never say anything is impossible.
