i get them mostly from young white females who say that the entire church should burn in hell! waht is their problem? isn't that a little harsh, ladies? the priests who committed these acts, do need prison time, though!!

Because the church hid and condoned this by not acting. After a priest was accused in many cases they just sent him to a different church and different kids. The entire church is corrupt and the child molesters are only the tip of it.

remember that the person who spent years sheltering these molesters, and also attacking and persecuting the molested children, is currently the pope. the catholic church is an institution that has done more to aid and protect serial child abusers than any other organization in history. its shameful that people who are not pedophiles would have anything to do with such an organization.

It is indeed a sad commentary when we Catholics (and everyone else, also) read about such despicable acts from those whom we trust to do the right thing. It is a shame that the little ones are the ones who were hurt the most.There are those who over-react to the news and condemn everyone associated with it. A sad story. I can only pray that we have a handle on it now and that justice will be done to those who have committed these heinous crimes.

Because that's how the world works. They pick on the small majority as representative of a whole institution.
another example is Muslim suicide bombers. Obviously they're not all like that, but the public always react better to the bad stories than the positive ones.

These happenings are not just happening in the catholic church, those that condemn the church are misinformed or not informed at all, first priest, only represent Christ, they are not him for say. They all have to realize that priest are only human. and God will punish all who don't ask for forgiveness, after all it is he (god) who judges, and we should all pray for the abuse to end and for all abusers to be punished, and get their just punishment weather catholic Protestant, bu dist, Muslim,Jew or even atheist whoever. a crime is a crime and needs to be punished
