It will not actually lighten the skin if you mean changing the pigment on your face. However,it will clean, exfoliate and add a "luster" to your face.

It gives the illusion of lightening your skin because it exfoliates the dead cells that look somewhat ashy. It doesn't really lighten just makes it smoother and a nice soft glow from fresh skin.

So..
I'm black and had hyperpigmentation of my skin. This problem was really affecting my life. I tried everything, my body just not responded to drugs and creams. Finally I found a good natural solution on this site http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=566
I hope it helps

It does and it is safe to use - just rinse well. After all, baking soda is used in baking! It's our "use no initiative" society, we prefer to have someone hand us a ready-made product.

I think it exfloiates the skin to get rid of dead cells, make a paste with water & gently massage in the skin for a few minutes..it'll certainly brighten your skin!
(PS. do a search on this google to make sure)

I don't think it'll lighten your skin, but it's an excellent exfoliant I use it all the time and it keeps my skin smooth. Good luck. 2D
