I saw a toddler walking the other day with his parents and I complimented on how cute he was and they said, "yeah, he's a joy and can you believe he just started walking and he's only 9 months-old!"

The day before my sons first birthday he took his first step alone and then quickly began walking on his own after that.

My first daughter was walking at nine months. The second did not walk until she was 14 months old. However, by that time we were living in a house that had three levels and many steps. I always thought that impeded her progress somewhat. Today they are equally smart, equally independent adults. At the time the "experts" said that if a child is not walking by 15 months, that child should be evaluated. But my second daughter was scooting up and down all those stairs, and even pushed a kitchen chair over to the stove and climbed up on it. I found her just as she was reaching for the pretty red eye of the stove! So don't take your eyes off toddlers. And mine were pretty tame compared to others in our family.

pretty much before a year and a half they should be walking, and as you see sometimes as early as 8 months. Just remember it isn't a sign of intelligence. Some people worry that if their child took 13 months while their friend's kid took 9, that their child has something wrong. Some kids develop coordination more slowly, and some don't really try to walk, they can get where they need to go by crawling so they don't really try. They will get there when they are ready.

I was actually walking at 8 1/2--9 months! My mom would get stopped in public all the time and asked about it. So, I dont think it is that uncommon. All babies are different. To this day though I am still very well balanced. I can ice skate/roller skate extremely well and I cant remember the last time I fell.

My daughter started walking at 9 months, but my son didn't start until 11 months. I think all kids are different though, and that it's pretty normal to be past 1 when they start walking.

My son had just turned 8 months and my daughter was about to turn a year. Each child is different and can start taking their first steps anywhere from around 8 months. Some pick it up faster than others and some are happy crawling or sitting back and enjoying the view.

i have heard of 2 instances where a baby walked at six months. Babies usually walk between 9-18 months with 12-15 months being the most common ages.
All parents think they're children are marvellously clever no matter how average they are, but on the other hand each milestone in development is a major achievement for that particular child. and it needs praise to retain its self esteem.

My son did no longer stroll til 14 months previous, he became a great boy:) yet my daughter is 14 months previous and started walking 2 days until now her 1st b-day, boys and ladies are diverse, i've got continually heard and commencing as much as have faith it now, that girls do issues quicker than boys, so some distance the myth is proving to be actual (dealing with my son and daughter). i think of your boys are doing great however, 10 months previous is actual advance for a boy even:)

My son started pulling up and cruising at 7 and a half months; he let go and took unassisted steps at 10 months. My niece waited until she was a year old. All kids are different. If your child is not walking on their own by 18 months, see a pediatrician.
