In todays world being a Christian or a Believer makes us the minority. Most of the world has turned their backs on The Lord and His Son Jesus Christ. We have taken down his words from every wall, and every public place. Under God in the pledge is a big deal to most, and people who think they can get away with a short prayer at school, work, etc. Do you think it is harder in todays society to keep our Faith alive?

Yes it is, Coco:

But you will recall that the reason people did not get on the boat in Noah's day is they thought they were saved.

Likewise, the only people that left Sodom and Gomorrah were questionable, too. Lot got drunk and his daughters committed incest.

Also, when Jesus spoke the truth, few received His message notwithstanding the mighty miracles He did. Over a million Jews perished in 70 AD because they did not believe they were lost, thus the survivors were sold as slaves around the world.

And here we are today, like the Bible says, "holding to a form of godliness, but denying the power of God" We certainly quote John 3:16 frequently, but do not believe God will destroy us for violating one of His commandments.

With the media presenting homosexuality, adultery, violence, and secular humanism (life without God and prayer), we think people are weird who live the primitive faith. Yes, my wife and I are glad we are not raising children again. If we were, it would be far from the city, and with only a DVD and an antenna that only gets Christian programing (like we have now).

Okay I think you have the wrong idea about God. You are not satan's child. I you were you would be the ANti christ and i don't see you uniting the world. I accepted God into my life three times. before I finally got it that it is a matter of belief not an actual change. You have to change God can be in your heart but he gave us free will. So just because you let God in doesn't mean anything if you don't change what you do with your life. I suggest you look at what in your life is causing you to loose faith. It could even be your parents friends. But maybe you need to read your bible every now and then. It is probably the hardest ritual for me to do read the bible. I can read six books in a month but for some reason I don't pick up my bible as much as i need to. When I do I find myself studying it. Get involved in church. and it is always dangerous to just rely on one person as sometimes people have views that are not the best regarding God. God wants us all in heaven. Living a Christian life is hard. I mean take any modern religion class and try mention you are a christian and be prepared to have a philosophical debate right there. But God is always there. You need to talk to a councelor and a preacher and you should do it soon.

Personally, I don't think that it is getting harder. As their is more external preasure against those who follow Christ mount, the number of people who claim to believe in Jesus will decrease but I doubt that people who truely do will fall away. The Church is responsible for keeping its followers in tune with Jesus, not the environment it finds itself in ("As iron sharpens iron..."). Also, the Church seems to grow most dramatically under persecution because it is virtually impossible for someone to half-way turn to Jesus there because they will lose everything else when they do, and knowing sacrifices already made helps for incentive (If I've gotten this far...) This latter part is speculation because I have not really faced opposition to my faith. However, I will say that believing became a lot harder for me when I started to realize that many fewer people were bothered by what I believed than I had expected. And most of the world still hasn't seen enough of Jesus to be capable of turning its backs... its just America right now. And America seems like it has always been more caught up in prosperity than it is in Jesus (spending more money anually on diets than it sends to aid foreign nations).

Don't give up, "The darkness did not comprehend the light," and we cannot expect it to. Jesus and other Cristians keep our faith alive, not the society we find ourselves in.

Jesus---The Creator

Born of a Virgin (became a man)
Died on the Cross (for all mankind)
Risen from the Dead (by The Father Above)

Christ (means The Annointed One)

When you Recieve Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you become a Child of GOD

You are Then Part of "A Nation within a Nation"

This "Nation of GOD" is getting Outta' Here

No. In some ways I think it's easier because then one is forced to examine the reasons for why one believes and this is what God calls us to do. Nowhere does the bible promote "blind faith", but rather "a faith that is preceded by knowledge". To "accept" Christianity because it seems popular or convenient isn't really acceptance of Christianity, but rather popularity or convenience. As these may change, so it is likely that one's beliefs will change as well along with them. Such a "faith" is but a house built on sand, rather than the rock of Christian truth.

First... too young for this forum.

Second, yes and no. It's at the same time difficult and easy to be a Christian. There is more lined up against us in some ways but there is also a lot on our side. And at least in America we don't have people wanting to kill us because we don't believe what they believe (as in Sudan or Arabia). So that's a good thing!

Yes. It is far more difficult. Temptation is everywhere. As human beings we are not meant to live at this speed. There is barely time to think. Much less time to pray.

The constant media blitz of buy this buy that. Yet none of it will ever make anyone happy.

The growing "secular" world, with their "do what ever makes you happy at this moment" mentality. Which just leads to misery.
