"While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed."
But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it." (Luke 11:27-28)

Why didn't he say something to the woman about Venerating Mary (like some Christians do now)?

Only some denominations venerate Mary, not all Christians do.

Notice that Jesus didn't dis her either. He loved and honored her as his earthly mother, as was the law, but never gave her any undeserved honor.

See, Jesus had fore-knowledge that there would one day be a denomination that exalts Mary almost to the point of godhood. He wanted to remind us all that Mary is just a human and that she is just as susceptible to sin and the grave as any other human. She is not God nor a co-god and shouldn't be treated as such.

The only thing that makes Mary special is that she was chosen to give birth to the Savior. Other than that, she's one of us. And if Mary (the real Mary) could, she would tell us the same thing today.

Actually she did tell us that she's nobody special. Right before Jesus turned water into wine, she told the people to do what Jesus tells them to. Also, she honored and worshipped Jesus realizing that he is her God in the flesh.

EDIT: Um, Paul. God didn't "ask" Mary to bear the Messiah. He TOLD her that she was. And Sean, I dare you to back up your last sentence with bible verses.

Cause Mary ws not chosen to Die for our Salvation Mary was just the Vesel God Chose to come to earth in the form of the Son Jesus Christ for our Salvation. Mary then also turn to Jesus christ for her salvation

Because Mary was just a person like any other. She is not special except in that God chose her to be the birth mother of Jesus. Otherwise, she was a soul just like any of us. She is not a special intercessor with God, she cannot hear prayer or pray for anyone. Jesus Christ is the only intercessor there is and the only one we need. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me."

Sorry Catholics, worshipping Mary is NOT why Jesus came from God to experience earth....

The Crusifiction was the big thing, and Jesus did that and rose again from that....

The big thing was not getting caught up in religion of doing things over for over's sake....

Jesus lived and died, but He did never once "worship" Mary, His own mother.....because she is a human....

Believe in humans all you want they will always let you down......that was from my father, a human dad that never fixed the car when it ran funny....

God tells in the Bible, Jesus was born of but not Mary's.......Didn't it??????? What the heck is going on, Catholics, you didn't hear that part??????????????????

God Himself addressed Mary as "full of grace" when He asked her to be the mother of His Son. She recognized in her humility that all generations would therefore call her "blessed among women". Catholics of all generations therefore recognize that she is indeed full of grace and blessed among women. You can't go wrong following the Word of God.

He then gave John the Beloved to Mary as her son. And the Blessed Mother to John as his Mother. In doing so he made us all blessed to have her as our Mother to watch over us at all times.
