I think so, because some times I get depressed and my soul tries to leave my body because it hates when I get depressed.

In order to keep my soul alive it needs to feel good. So I keep the word with my sould and were both happy

IMO, yes.

My belief is that whatever personality we have in this life, is the one we keep when we die. (See Alma 34:34 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/alma/34/34#34 ) If we are miserable while in the body, we will also be miserable without one.

I think the body gives us extra power to change how we feel... for instance, in cases of mental illness, people's spirituality often suffers... through medication or natural health alternatives, one can change how one feels... and this changes one's spirit, as well as the body.

Here is another LDS scripture about the experience of disembodied souls:

"For the dead had looked upon the long absence of their spirits from their bodies as a bondage." (D&C 138:50)

Basically, LDS (Mormons) believe that "this life is the time to prepare to meet God" (See Alma 12:24 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/alma/12/24#24 ; and Alma 43:32 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/alma/34/32#32 ) Over the years, I have come to beleive that the reason for this is that we humans can make much more spiritual progress while in our bodies, than we can without them.

We've all heard of ghosts with "unfinished business". Well, it is POSSIBLE to finish one's life mission after death has occurred, but it is a lot harder.

Part of the purpose of our lives is to find joy...

2 Nephi 2: 25 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/2_ne/2/25#25
25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

If we find true joy in this life, it will not leave us after the body has died.

P.S. My Dad is an example of a ghost with unfinished business... but I know through dreams and feelings that there is still hope for him. He's doing what he can to right the wrongs he made in this life.... ie to change his pain into joy.

The soul? How can you talk of that as a living person? Unless your brain is more evolved than mine, I doubt your brain can distinguish between the sensations and the truly immortal. Of course, I sometimes think I can but usually the next day I am again at a loss. Let me know what you have experienced. It may help me with my interpretations.

your body is as good as dead or in a coma when you are sleeping. Does your soul experience joy and pain in your dreams?

The first thing to do is read 2 Timothy 3:16, then read Ecclesiastes 9:5,10,and Ecclesiastes 3:19, now unless you think God is a liar? which we all know that he is not, and that the whole bible is his word of truth, then you have his answer.
Do not put your trust in earthly man, for he is not able to direct his own step. Jeremiah10:23.

no.
If your body sensation is switched off due to anesthesia, your soul doesn't feel a thing. Your brain is still very active while dreaming.

Based on what little we can tell from Scripture, I'm guessing so.

But if I have to die to find out, I'll wait a little longer...
