No lins its not two separate Religions it has become separated. Yahshua was sent to the Jewish people first and for the first ten years all converts were Jews. It wasn't till Cornelius and his household that Gentiles were accepted into the fold. I'm not Addressing Mainstream Christians who are so seeped in paganism that they would have to do a radical life change to repent. I'm talking to the Non Jewish believers who have joined the Messianic Jewish movement.

Grendal: You just insulted the God you say you worship. Are you that seeped in paganism that you can't even see the paganism? Show me the command to keep Christmas or Easter. Show me the command to pray to or through saints. Show me the command that says that its okay for you to make and image of Messiah and put it up in your church. Thats called Idolitry. If you don't like it repent.

Lins: What country have you been living in? Have you never heard of the Messianic Jewish movement and how the Gentiles have joined themselves to it? There are more Gentiles in the Messianic churches than Jews.

Oh and Grendal I've accepted Yahshua as my savior but I refuse the tag Christian as Well as Messianic just because of the baggage both those movements have. I am a believer and a follower of the way. I repented from both mainstream Christianity and Judaism.

Good question. Whenever considering such extra-Biblical commentary (such as from the Mishna Torah, Talmud, etc.), I always make a consciencious effort to view them through the "lense" of the B'rit Chadashah. So while the Mishna regarding Levitical law (for example) is helpful when trying to understand the Jewish view then and (to a lesser degree now), these commentaries are clearly unhelpful to the believer under the B'rit Chadashah, who understands these laws were fulfilled by Messiah.

I've also found these sources have given me a deeper understanding of Pharisiacal beliefs (which persist today under what we call Rabbinical Judaism). This, in turn, gives me a fuller understanding of Yeshua's reasoning when speaking out against their teachings. I don't think a person can truly understand why Yeshua said what He did unless that person understands what He was speaking out against.

However, there is a danger: these commentaries do not fully (and in some cases, *correctly*) distinguish between oral tradition authorized by God and oral tradition authorized by tradition itself (which would be unscriptural). As I pointed out, this is a point Yeshua preached against at places such as Matthew 12. The danger arises when a new believer in the B'rit Chadashah reads these sources and, lacking the wisdom of discernment, becomes confused and perhaps experiences a crisis of faith. For this reason, I never recommend new believers under the B'rit Chadashah read such commentaries. They are much too complex, in my opinion.

On the other hand, I've found some incredible wisdom in the few tractates of the Talmud that I've read, particularly Sanhedrin.

I'm a Catholic and I do not appreciate the insult to Christianity. Permit me to return your generosity of spirit. You worship a mountain god. Your "yahwah" was nothing but a moderately active volcano along the Great Rift valley. You don't worship the Supreme Being at all. You are a pagan, not we.
