We're stuck in low earth orbit and we need to break out to the rest of the solar system. Mars should be a top priority. This space shuttle and space station program is idiocy. We have a space shuttle in order to service the space station. We have a space station so the shuttle with have somewhere to go. In a few thousand years we're going to need a new planet. We won't get there flying around a few hundred miles up barely out of the earths atmosphere.

When you say space you mean, benefits for illegal aliens, etc. Well, I rather spend that money not on earth but in our country, USA and for the American people...don't you agree.

Since this is the immigration section, my answer is to spend the money on securing our border with Mexico, build the border fence, increase spending on the Border Patrol and ICE, and ship the illegal aliens to colonies on Mars!
How does that sound?

Well since our species' only chance for survival lies with colonization of other solar systems, I'm leaning towards space.
