Change the blend of your coffee. Take out 1/4 of it and replace that with caffiene free coffee. Then, when you feel okay with that blend of coffee, do 1/2 and 1/2, and so on until your coffee habit is way down.

Coffee has much, much more caffiene than soft drinks, and twice as much as iced tea, so focus on the coffee and then you can look at the sodas later.

BTW, regardless of the cause, there are wonderful drugs (Maxalt) that kick migraine's butt.

I find it strange that you develop a migraine overnight unless you self-medicate with a pill. Have you had a check up lately? Maybe your headache has something to do with sleep apnea.

You can not go cold turkey on caffeine. You experienced what happens if you try. There are many ways to kick caffeine though. The key is you have to cut back slowly.

Quit drinking caffeine one hour earlier than normal. If you usually have your last caffeine at 5, stop at 4. As soon as you are comfortable with that, repeat. Stop at 3. Then 2. Etc.

Or you can replace one serving of caffeine per day with something else. I would recommend water, but some people need the rest of the caffeine experience, without the caffeine, like the smell of the coffee, etc. So you can also replace one serving with decaf. Then replace 2 servings, then 3, etc.

Or you can drink the same number of servings, but have less caffeine in each serving. Drink half caf/half decaf for a while. Then switch to more decaf and les caf per serving, until it's all decaf.

Well, I have the same problem with caffeine. If I don't have some kind of caffeine when I first wake up, it won't be long before a migraine begins.

I did read somewhere that if you are addicted to something and recover from it, there are some people that have the tendency to take up another addiction. I think that is possibly what you've done with the caffeine.

Drugs and alcohol take time to quit but the easyiest way to stop a caffine addiction is cold turkey. It worked for me.
