Historically speaking he is way off. He needs to review history books and not the ones Catholics wrote either. For over 250 years the Roman empire DESPISED Christianity and denied them most of the rights as citizens and tortured and killed a majority of them. Constantine only adapted the Christian faith for him and his army. He did not make the Christianity the official religion of the Roman empire. It wasn't until 3/4 a century later that the Romans decided they were going to make Christianity the Roman religion. Then they formualted their own version (Roman Catholicism) and stamped it as the correct religion for the world. The blantantly disregarded the fact that there had been Christian communities over 300 years before Rome decided to plot up THEIR CORRECT VIEWS OF THINGS. Historically speaking Roman Catholicism is far from the original Christianity the Apostles of the Bible preached and those that chose to stick with the Apostle teachings and not the Popes suffered greatly

The Pope a lot for sure did no longer say "least complicated Catholics have been geared up to acquire salvation". The record says that the Catholic Church is the church Jesus located upon the rock it is Peter. it is what the Catholic Church has been asserting for 2000 years. no longer something new to look correct right here.

Historically speaking, you are way off.

The Church has always proclaimed itself the True Church from Day One. We can know with certainty that the Catholic Church is the only true Church because it is the only one to possess the Four Marks of the True Church:

The Church Is One (Rom. 12:5, 1 Cor. 10:17, 12:13, CCC 813–822)
Jesus established only one Church, not a collection of differing churches (Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican, and so on). The Bible says the Church is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:23–32). Jesus can have but one spouse, and his spouse is the Catholic Church.

His Church also teaches just one set of doctrines, which must be the same as those taught by the apostles (Jude 3). This is the unity of belief to which Scripture calls us (Phil. 1:27, 2:2).

Although some Catholics dissent from officially-taught doctrines, the Church’s official teachers—the pope and the bishops united with him—have never changed any doctrine. Over the centuries, as doctrines are examined more fully, the Church comes to understand them more deeply (John 16:12–13), but it never understands them to mean the opposite of what they once meant.

The Church Is Holy (Eph. 5:25–27, Rev. 19:7–8, CCC 823–829)
By his grace Jesus makes the Church holy, just as he is holy. This doesn’t mean that each member is always holy. Jesus said there would be both good and bad members in the Church (John 6:70), and not all the members would go to heaven (Matt. 7:21–23).

But the Church itself is holy because it is the source of holiness and is the guardian of the special means of grace Jesus established, the sacraments (cf. Eph. 5:26).

The Church Is Catholic (Matt. 28:19–20, Rev. 5:9–10, CCC 830–856)
Jesus’ Church is called catholic ("universal" in Greek) because it is his gift to all people. He told his apostles to go throughout the world and make disciples of "all nations" (Matt. 28:19–20).

For 2,000 years the Catholic Church has carried out this mission, preaching the good news that Christ died for all men and that he wants all of us to be members of his universal family (Gal. 3:28).

Nowadays the Catholic Church is found in every country of the world and is still sending out missionaries to "make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19).

The Church Jesus established was known by its most common title, "the Catholic Church," at least as early as the year 107, when Ignatius of Antioch used that title to describe the one Church Jesus founded. The title apparently was old in Ignatius’s time, which means it probably went all the way back to the time of the apostles.

I posted a Catholic question earlier, check out this response.

>>>The current Pope also is the first to be given the title of "grand inquisitor"( in our unofficial lay-speak language), since the bloody inquisitions eons ago?
So, he has the OFFICIAL "right" to condemn people to death if and when he so chooses....for whatever "wrong" he imagines...even of that of not being Catholic.<<<

Do you what the grand inquisitor is?
Read on...
Christ comes back to earth in Seville at the time of the Inquisition. Jesus performs a number of miracles (echoing miracles from the Gospels). The people recognize him and adore him, but he is arrested by Inquisition leaders and sentenced to be burnt to death the next day. The Grand Inquisitor visits him in his cell to tell him that the Church no longer needs him. The main portion of the text is the Inquisitor explaining to Jesus why his return would interfere with the mission of the church.

Looks like the Pope is getting too big for his dress.

I used to be catholic. I heard from my dad that the catholic church was started by Jesus Christ. I call myself a Christian now, I am now attending and am involved with a Pentacostal church(AG).

I don't that Jesus would ever of condoned the crusades or the inquisition. Jesus' motto is "love", not kill, rape, torture, or sodomize everyone that does not believe in Christianity; the catholic pope condoned actions of the knights in the beginning of the crusades. I honestly can't remember how many popes ordered knights out to protect the Christian churches and do all(*wink, wink*)they deemed neccessary to achieve their goal.

I believe that the church that Jesus started consists of people who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and they believe that Jesus washed away their sins when He was crucified on the cross. Oh gracious, that is practically every church there is! Hey, we are all members of the church Jesus started. WE are the church. Isn't that wonderful? Even though we may each go to a different building to worship Jesus,WE are the church!

I dont really see a question here so much as a statement.
IN Matthew Jesus says to Peter, You ar my rock and upon this rock I will build my church and not even the gates of hell shall prevail.
Peter went to Rome and started the Catholic church, he was our first Pope in an unbroken line of Popes to this day.
The Catholic church is not perfect, it is run by human beings and we are not perfect. To think there have not been mistakes made, serious mistakes would be to deny our humanity, still I believe with my whole heart and soul that this is the Chruch Jesus built upon his Rock.

I am interested in knowing what history books you have been reading. If they can be checked out of the County of Los Angeles Public Library, I will take a look.

Does he believe he is correct ?Why would he deny himself the pleasures of life ?Do you believe your views are correct ?We all do.
Roman Catholicism is far from the original Christianity? Only Henry the eight and Bob Rodgers might agree with you.
