this whole immigration issue is a storm in a tee cup
first the USA gov. needs to establish why there is such a great need in the USA for cheaper labor ( is American labor over regulated?those immigrants would not be here if there was no market for them
while if there is a need that the USA cannot fill than except foreigners to fill that gap give anyone that can prove employment a time limited work permit at a cost to the employer (which may make it more prudent to employ local labor) or not ,but you immediately turn a huge problem into a revenue producing solution you stop calling the immigrants and call them contract workers and you will take a political football out the game .political candidates con stop going to Spanish classes and you can start looking for real illegals as their is now no need to be illegal you can once more leave the voting to Americans.whoever then qualifies for USA citizenship in due course will then get his papers. this will than allow you to pick and choose you foreign influx.
i left my home country 40 years ago and have been a immigrant ,illegal foreigner .contract worker and so forth in all that time.and quite happy.

The idea that only "Native American" have the right to oppose immigration to the United States ignores the concept of "Nation." There was no such thing as the political entiy known as the United States, until the Founders created it in 1776.
Furthermore, there are not grades of citizenship. One is either a citizen of this country, or one is not. We are not more or less citizens of the United States based on the number of generations preceding us on these shores.

And, particularly, we are not more or less citizens of this country based on our skin color or ethnicity.

Since everyone in the world has ancestors who immigrated from somewhere else, the immigration history of one's ancestors is probably not relevant to the formulation of wise public policy.

So the laws are the laws..I get why people from other countries want to come to the United States..just do it the right way and get your papers and come here like other have legally.

We should deport most of the illegal aliens that are in this country. We are a nation of laws, and if you don’t respect those laws, then you should not be given citizenship. I would allow only the following illegals to stay: children who were brought here by their parents and have good school records, those with college degrees who can pass a tough background check, those who have special skills that we need, and those who are working in the agricultural field where we do need immigrant labor.

We allow way to many people to legally immigrate to the US, more than all the other countries in the world combined! We should cut back on immigration to about 200,000 a year until we can assimilate those who are here now.

By the way, I am a native American. I was born in the USA to American citizens!

This continent was only land no indigenous people here. Everyone has migrated from somewhere else. But once we formed a country and made laws and worked together and became a nation, migratory people are no longer legal or necessary as we have clear boundaries that no one should be able to miss. Now we have laws to control the number of people in our country and for reasons of national security, unless you've been approved you're not welcome. It's by invitation only and the illegals were not invited. Legal immigration is already in place and we are more generous than any others, we just can't support the whole world and function properly as a nation and we don't need any dissenters here illegally now or ever. We as a nation of free people do not owe our future to a bunch of criminals who thought they were better than to follow our laws. I say deport all illegals now!

Ain't that the truth TwoCrows!.....this theory of the "Land Bridge"the ""Bering Strait, in truth, is a theory that was born of the politics and propaganda of early America. In the midst of the American 'Manifest Destiny' social climate, the Bering Strait theory provided a 'scientific' means to justify the taking of ancestral Indian lands. In short, the mythical theory eased the conscience, as it was a way for land hungry immigrants to believe that, because Indian people were only 'recent inhabitants' of this land that it was not our 'homeland'. Therefore we were, in their minds, not any more the 'original people' in this land than they were. This was, and still is, the political power of the infamous 'Bering Strait theory'...I keep italicizing the word theory. My reason for doing this is that I think it is very important to note that this myth is still identified today as a theory, not a fact. A theory is defined as: "an offered opinion which may not positively be true." Yet this theory is taught in schools still today as if it were the gospel truth. It is far from truth, and the time for it to be removed from lessons about ...American Indian people is long overdue ....I can not tell you how sick and tired I am of hearing this BS theory.....and how people continue to believe in it!.....Now you want to generalize that "We" look asian?....give me a break!.....how can you come to that conclusion?.....Did you know that many Nations had Calendars for thousands of years?.....The mohawks have been counting the winters for over 33,000 years!.....

Immigration two or three thousand years ago cannot be compared to today immigration, now every civilized country have immigration laws and we live in a society that respect the laws even in Latin America believe me when it come to immigration. Well in the USA we are not different, foreigners have to respects our laws. We Americans respect and want immigrants to come to our country but legally and with control, not illegally and without any control. Control immigration is helpful and necessary for every country but illegal immigration bring chaos and hurt the country in many ways, that is the reason we as Citizens have to fight it.

I think we should deport all the stupid people. It doesn't matter if they are citizens, legal or illegal. If they're stupid, deport them to another planet.
And just for the record, the monsters who terrorized our country had passports and had legal staus. So I dont understand why some people think that just because a person is here legally, they think the person cant do no wrong.

the ice bridge theory is just that THEORY, unproven opinion put in place to soften the blow to average white conciences. So they can say 'well they weren't original either'.
My people have artifact that date before the last ice age. We've always been here.

It amazes me how people will believe in adam and eve, but can't believe maybe THIS was eden and we've been HERE the whole time.

My thoughts on immigration. Unless whitey is willing to pick the produce himself, I suggest he just sit down and enjoy his salad.

Immigration is a mess. We need a clear, concise policy . . . not 300 plus pages of crazy talk. We need to grant elevated status to those applicants who hold college degrees, have U.S. savings accounts of 50k or more, already read, write and speak English, have valuable technical skills (medicine, technology, etc.), would be willing to serve in the military, or have access to highly sensitive foreign intelligence. We also need to make sure that there is an efficient guest worker program for the farming concerns that need these workers.

Everybody deserves a shot at a better life but not if it means breaking the law. Immigration laws exist for a reason. If my neighbor was handing out free bread and I constantly ran to the front of the line and stole a piece I would bet that the people standing in line would be pretty mad.
