The vet diagnosed this presumably? He must've offered you some treatment?
You need to get appropriate treatment from a vets, you must not choose medication for an animal yourself. Anti-inflammatories are a difficult subject in cats because you need to be very careful with the dosage so the kidneys are not adversely affected, especially in such an old cat.
Discuss this thoroughly with your vet.

You can give her the homeopathic remedy Rhus toxicodendron which you can buy at a health food store. My vet recommended using a 6x dose - one pellet a day.
The key to using homeopathic remedies is CAREFUL monitoring. Try a daily dose for a week and watch for improvement. If she seems to move better (my cat did), do it every other day. Then try a couple of times a week. Another principle of homeopathy is to use the LOWEST possible dose in the LEAST necessary time frame to achieve the relief for her you are seeking.

I would talk with your vet but I've given my cat glucosamine and chondroitin for her arthritis. She's 15. I got it at a pet meds website but I asked my vet first to make sure it would be ok with my cat's particular health problems.

Your vet should be able to prescribe her something to help with pain or suggest an OTC medicine that will help her.
You might want to get a book on pet massage and learn some hands on techniques that you can do for her.
PS - Do not give aspirin, it is highly toxic to cats.

I'm with you, mine is almost 18. So far I've just gotten him a memory foam self warming bed at Walmart. I also give him high calorie stuff that comes in a tube that my vet suggested because he isn't eating much.

The Vet can prescribe steroids to relieve some of the painful inflammation. There are also natural remedies you could research online.

go see a vet and see if he/she can provide a medication. Dont try to give it like aspirin or any human things unless your vet tells you too. (they probably wont) and your vet will tell you what kind of stuff to give her

There are several medications that can be given to your cat, starting, believe it or not, with aspirin. However, due to the age of your cat, it is best to contact a vet to ensure your feline can handle whatever medication is recommended and give.
