I think its a question of demographics and what you want. Do you have kids? Are you retired? are you a young adult looking to party? Do you have money or are you looking for the best deals? Is temperature a concern? Basically the families and children are all cruising in the summer, if you have kids this would be the best time. Remember this is high season and the cruises will be more expensive and the Caribbean will be HOT. April is the best month to go if you are looking to party in the disco. All the spring breakers are on board and the energy is high. If you are looking at the cruise as more of a cultural, relaxation trip, consider September-November and January and February. The passengers are older, its a little quieter and you can get better deals. Once you figure out what you want out of your cruise experience, it is a lot easier to decide when to travel. Then you have to pick your cruise line which is a whole different question for Yahoo Answers!

Have a great trip!

The best times are during the following months: March, April, November and beginning December. You will find the best deals during November and December, because is consider low season. The hurricane season ends on December 1st., but the changes of a hurricane during this season is very low. October is good too, but some people avoid this month because the hurricane season. (The cruiseships changes their routes to avoid any hurricane). During March and April the weather is fantastic, is non rainy season. I had travel in both seasons (April and November), and rain wasn't a problem.

The Spring of the year is best. Go between March and June 30 so that you miss the hurricane season and the temperatures are not too hot. April would be the ideal month.

The best time is in the winter. It is a refreshing break to sun and sand. Other times of the year you face the possibiity of bad weather, even hurricanes.
I recommend Royal Cabbean. Go to their website and check out the Southern Carbbean cruises sailing out of San Juan. They cover 5 islands and it is great fun.

I would suggest you go in the spring. I know alot of people go in the summer and winter but that's not so wise. First of all if you go in the winter everything is more expensive due to it being the "high season" for tourists and in my opinion the water isn't as nice. Second of all if you go during the summer you risk hurricanes ruinning your vacation plans. Third of all if you go during those times the ports may be too packed with other ships coming in with tourists so I would go during the spring if i was you. The ports aren't as crowded and the water is nice and warm.

I always go between January and April. There are more choices for different ships and itineraries. The weather is the best. And I like to get out of Wisconsin only while the weather here is cold.
