And people wonder why we get mad at BYBs......
Take the fricken puppies away from the mother, only let her have them when she's feeding them and SUPERVISE so she can't lay on them. When I have a litter I never leave them alone for the first three weeks, their nest is by my bed and I hardly sleep.
How the heck did you decide which pups you wanted at only 2 days? You can't evaluate a puppy at that age.
Sigh......

You need to get puppy formula, take ALL the puppies away, not just two out of five, and bottle feed them. You picked two out of five puppies that you wanted and left the others out there to die? That's cruelty and you can get taken to court for that. Why can't you bring them in the house? They can easily die from the heat since they're so little and helpless. They can't find shade on their own and keep cool. Since your boyfriend's dog got pregnant and you didn't have her spayed and the puppies aborted, ALL the puppies are now your responsibility. If you don't want to care for all the puppies, I suggest you give them to a no-kill shelter and they'll raise them. It's very irresponsible to let the dog get pregnant and not take care of the puppies. Please have the mother spayed as soon as you can, bring all the dogs, or at least the puppies indoors, and bottle feed them.

Welcome to real world. The need for knowledge and responsibility.
You allowed the female to reproduce. You have an obligation to these puppies.
Take the family to the vet.
Put the puppies in a correct size box with soft towels IN THE HOUSE. Keep them warm, but not too hot.
Get puppy formula..not human formula. Feed them every 3 hours. And, by the way, we need to help them urinate and move their bowels. That is why the female licks her puppies. Use cotton balls moistened in warm water.
That is for now. Later you will have to start on correct puppy food, to the vet for shots, possible wormings.......
Start researching that NOW!
And...hmmm..how about spaying the mom? Apparently the two of you should prevent this from happening again

First off, you need to go to a pet store and get puppy milk replacer. Human baby formula is not nutritionally balanced for puppies and will not keep them alive. You need to keep the puppies warm and away from the mother. Have a vet or vet tech show you the proper way to bottle feed. You will also need to stimulate the puppies to make them pee/poop after they eat. They will need to eat every 2-3 hours, including in the middle of the night. Stimulate them after EVERY meal by taking a warm, wet dish towel and rubbing the genitals and anus until they urinate/defecate. They will urinate every time and should defecate about every other time. They cannot do this on their own at this age.
Please feel free to email me directly if you need help with this!
Try contacting local rescue organizations and shelters to see if anyone is able to take the puppies in. It is going to be a LOT of work to keep these puppies alive.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get the mother spayed as soon as the puppies are weaned so that this does not happen again. If you tell me where you are located, I will find a low cost or free spay/neuter clinic in your area.

First of all, why can't you bring them in the house? And second, why did you only bring in the 2 and not all of them? If the mother is smothering them and being outside in the heat is not helping then you should bring them all in or take them to a vet, they will take care of them and adopt them out. I'm not so sure about giving them baby formula either, it might be OK but I would check with a vet. Please bring in the others and try your best to save them all.

You need to take away all the puppies and bottle feed them. Baby formula is not best for them either. Go to a vet or pet store and get puppy formula or even try finding another dog to adopt them. My female dog adopts all the time.

Bring them all in the house, or in the garage if you can't. Does the mother have a bare ground floor? She should if she doesn't. The main reason that puppies get smothered is because they have been living on a hardfloor. The mother needs a hole dug on one side of the dog house for the puppies to sleep in a pile and the mother sleeps on the side.
You may have to dig one if she won't dig one herself. Human baby formula is OK. And your not a "murderer". Don't let these annoying "spay and neuter" people piss you off with their ignorant, rude comments. You had know idea that this would happen.
Check out my video of my newborn puppies who live outside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWTiBv5DzJU
I dug a deeper hole for them after I filmed this.

When I read questions like this I am sickened. Get all the puppies to a rescue shelter now and take mom with them. You have no business owning an animal, let alone breeding one. So you are telling us that eight of the puppies have already died? Murderer! I hope you get what you deserve in the end. If you want money get a job-don't enslave helpless animals.

OMG you aren't serious?? You picked 2 puppies and are feeding them and not all of them?? Why wouldn't you try to save them all?? You allowed them to be brought into this world, you chose to let her have the litter, Now it's your responsibility to take them ALL and try to save them.. That is neglect to pick 2 and allow the others to starve to death or be killed.. OMG I cannot even believe this.. Read your question.. Can you honestly say that you don't sound very very neglectful??
