I guess if this is what my child wanted. If they felt that they were this way and had someone that loved them and respected them I would have no problems with this. I would want to talk to both of them and let them know what type of things they were headed for because of the homophobic society that we live in. But, I would love my child and welcome their partner into my home anytime they wished to visit and have no problems with this.
Mine are young so this is something that I am at least a decade away from. But, like I said they are my children and I love them no matter what they do. I can not stop loving them because of a choice or a lifestylr they wish to pursue. If I did I would never see them and life is too short to not be able to talk to or see your kids.

They are Your child first and foremost. You would love them no matter what their orientation or who they love. Homosexuality is a genetic problem that people are born with. Forbidding them from seeing their partner would only drive a wedge in your relationship. I would suggest you seek a group like PFLAG and get information and support form other parents dealing with the same issue.

I would support my son or daughter in every way i could. I'd let them know that people are going to say and do mean things out of ignorance and those are the type of people they should ignore. I'd also let my child know that Jesus doesn't hate them because they are gay. I'd never forbid them to date someone just because its a gay relationship. That's just stupid. The kid is still gay if they date or not. Forbidding them to date just makes them a single gay person. I'd never disown my child for being gay. As long as their personal relationship are healthy they have nothing to do with me. I'd also have my child take self defense class so they can defend themselves from hateful gay bashers. Most of all I'd make sure my child knew he/she was loved unconditionally.

I'm a christian and yeah I'd be upset but I wouldn't disown my child that's a little over the top and if they weren't living with me they could see their partner but under my roof my child will abide by my rules. if every sin is equal in GODS eyes NOT mans. then I should try to see as if they hit their brother and just take it as something they'll hopefully grow out of and of course I'll be praying for them.

It is way to hypothetical. It would have to be by adoption and then it is illegal in my state. The only way would be to share parental rights with a lesbian couple and that is messy. But if at all possible, I would simple act as any father and share my love and knowledge with them. Maybe some day it will not have to be hypothetical.

First of all I would thank them for having the courage to talk to me about their problem and having that much trust in me I'd tell them that I love 'em and accept who they are. Regardless of "choice" or "genetic" influences, it's not my life, its theirs and I would a fool if I thought for one second that I could control them for the rest of their lives.
Why on earth would you disown your child? Man this world is tough and all we got is family.
I would on the other hand forbid them to see their partner, until we all 3 went out for drinks of course....

First I would dispair for awhile, wondering what went wrong. Then Ii would think about the consequences of what I was going to say next.
And because I love my children, and want them in my life, and me in theirs for as long as I am here, I would say something like....You know that is not a lifestyle that I could personally embrace, but you are old enough to make your own lifestyle decisions.
Since God doesn't have any grandchildren, I don't have to feel responsible for your decisions anymore than you have to for mine.
Then I would hope that was gentle enough to keep our relationship intact.

Honestly, I'd be a little dissappointed at first because I could only have two children and wanted more, so I want lots of grandchildren which is difficult to do in a same sex marriage, however, I love both my children no matter what. I would deal, we would cry, but we'd still be a family and welcome their partner into it.

if i had a child that was homosexual i would still love them. i wouldn't think about kicking them out or disowning them. They are still the same a straight people regaurdless. Because they like the same sex doesn't change them. I have friends who are homosexual and i accept them just the way they are.

I would be no big deal, and I'd think nothing of it. Any more than I'd think anything of it if I were to learn for the first time that he/she were left-handed.
Sexual orientation, just like handedness, is nothing more than a TRIVIAL *variation* of NORMALCY.
Those who think otherwise usually are mindless and hateful bigots, or are abjectly ignorant, or both, since this is OBVIOUS.
10% of the population is left-handed.
And 5% of the population is homosexual.
(And... whomever a person selects as a partner, or however he/she has sex in private, is NO one else's business.)
NO big deal.
= = = = = =
To "Khalid E" -- SELDOM have I seen so MANY totally-wrong and incorrect things written in so FEW words as in your comments.
To "Ava" -- GOOD answer! Just one clarification. Sexual orientation is, just like handedness, the result of mere *variations* of NORMALCY. Both left-handedness and homosexuality are **normal** (no "defective" genes involved.) And both are minority forms of variation.
