The above are not true. This is a birth right issue. France would simply recognize you as a citizen, not naturalize you. This means you CAN have a dual citizenship. Just do the paperwork necessary at your local French consulate.

I know of only one method to aquire Dual Citizenship. You earn it. Address the Embassy of France. Request to join the French Foreign Legion.

You cannot currently have dual citizenship with France. The only nations that the US allows dual citizenship with cirrently are Israel, Italy and Ireland.

yes you may get french citizenship ,and keep your US citizenship
you will have to contact the nearest consulat of France in the US
if one of your parent is french ?
the french parent should # first declare # his marital status to the consulat ,marriage certificat (original only )
birth certificate for both
french people living abroad ;( it is a must ) in order to get services for France, such as citizenship and other documents ,will get consulat card certifiying the french citizen living in US .
your parent who is french ;birth certificat (original)
then declare your birth ,to get a # livret de famille # (family records)
then you may apply for citizenship to France.
get your birth certificate (original)
your parents (original )
it is a bit long ,but worth it .
lots of paper work

I don't think the US allows duel citizenship with France. I thought that it only allowed duel citizenship with Taiwan and Israel. I may be very wrong though.
