when you have a scab it starts to itch when its getting better ?

why does it itch ??

The teeny-tiny nerve fibers are re-generating , so new sensations come - so it itches! Put a dab of vaseline if almost healed; or antibiotic ointment if still a bit raw.

As a wound heels and the blood starts to clot, thus forming a scab, the dried blood pulls the skin taught making it itchy. Dry blood (scab) plus tightly pulled skin equals itchiness!!!!!

the new skin healing. same if you get a sunburn or a tattoo. the new skin is stretching and sensative and when things rub it or stretch it, it iches.
