It must be that, to commit a crime with impunity. Other people are attracted to certain types of jobs to be around children - but if caught, they are almost always prosecuted in a court of Law, but if its a Priest, or representative of "God", they get away with it, I call that aiding and abetting.

Priest are called by God. there's a strick handbook to weed out non callings. With appreciate to the scandals. youthful boys understand approximately this calling from God and so does the devil. The devil starts his artwork in attempting to subvert his calling and he's molested. understand non of it is stated and the boy grows up and turns right into a clergyman. If the priest is vulnerable and is not any longer stable in his faith he will succumb to the defiling sin that's in him placed there at an early age. The devil additionally has a plan that's to strike on the very coronary heart of the church, strike the Shepperd, scatter the sheep. Any information wanting this merely does no longer understand the war that is going on interior the religious realm.

I do not think so. I rather would think that most priests really and truly want to follow Christ and it's church in which they believe in. Paedophilia happens to those that are ill in our society. Some of them have been molested in there young age while growing up. It's an environmental issue I believe. It's something that needs to be trastically addressed to prevent in the future.
Men become priests for various reasons.
1.) to serve Christ
2.) to serve the church
3.) to want to achieve different levels inside of the church
4.) to serve the Christian community in which they serve
5.) to become educated
6.) to live in celebacy
But I think the Roman Catholic Church should have Priests that are allowed to get married. I think it would save a lot of problems in the future. WHo say's that married Priests can't do a good job of serving?

I do believe that the calling of a priest is a personal ideal, not a sexual escape. I believe that the requirement of celibacy in the Catholic priest is what lures men with the predilection (albeit adversion) to paedophilia to the priesthood. I've known many priests who were good men and a very few who weren't. The actions of the many out weigh the actions of the few... or the one.

I don't know about that, I heard on the news last nigh, America is going to pay out millions to victims of abuse by catholic priests.
Not all priests are abusers, but the fact the Catholic Church, just moves them on to another Church instead of reporting them to the police.
Gives the Church a bad reputation, and that system is now costing them millions, all paedophiles should be reported Priest or not report them, don't cover up for them.

The incidence of paedophilia among priests is about one in 400. Among doctors about one in 200 and among teachers about one in 50. About 80% of all paedophiles claim to be atheist or agnostic. If you're looking for a causal link, start with the mirror.

I believe priests become pedophiles because they are forced to suppress their God-given sexual urges...and they then manifest themselves in other ways.

Christianity has made sex into such a bad, taboo thing...when it is actually a gift from God, to be enjoyed...within certain perameters.....However, because we have made it into a nasty thing...the Catholics have said it can be of no part of the priesthood...we therefore deny people that which is natural to them, and given to them by God....we have a need to eat, sleep and breathe oxygen...I believe, we also have a need for sex, and not only the sex act...but the feel of someone next to us, holding us...that bond...that you can only have when having sex with someone.

Priests never experience this...so the outlet for this natural act...becomes quite bad....and is released onto innocent young people....

It's neither immunity nor protection that prompts men to become priests. It's the retirement plan.

And there are better dresses for "men" to wear in the secular world than in the Church. Who looks good in all that black? without pearls even!!!

There is nothing stopping people from reporting child-molestation to the police, nothing stopping the police from arresting a child-molester, and nothing stopping the state from prosecuting.
