how young is to young to date some of my friends started dating when they where 9! what's the youngest you would let your daughter date?

It depends on the maturity level. I would say 14 or 15 though. That is what I think for my 10 year old. This would be where I would drop her at the mall, or movies etc and I would pick her back up. At 15 or 16 then she could ride with the boy but it does depend on so many factors. How she is doing in school, if I have any trust issues, etc. I believe in trusting a child until they give you a reason not to. I give her her own space, privacy whatever, but dating at 9- Ridiculous.

I don't have a daughter (I'm under 16 so I wouldn't) but as a teenager, many people in my school started dating around 12, but it slowly gets more and more serious as you get older. If she really wants to, and s/he is a decent guy/girl then just let them. As long as they are not doing anything that is illegal (underage sex, drugs, the works) I think it's fine.

I would let my daughter date when she turns 14. That seems like an appropriate age.

What do you consider dating? I consider a date to be two people going out by themselves or with one or two other couples without a chaparone. This would mean they need to be older than 9.

14 on special school functions. 15 other times. No cars until 15. Curfew until 18.
