Tell me where in the bible, does it say that homosexuality is a sin! It's total BS!

Ok seirously people, there's more to life out there than a book written thousands of years ago. Not to mention the fact that a couple of drunk dudes could've written the whole thing. =P

I don't know what to do. I don't want to promote a homophobic consedering I'm a homosexual. Then again I did ask for where it says homosexuality is a sin. I don't you people decide.

Vayikra (Leviticus) Chapter 18 " 22. You shall not lie down with a male, as with a woman: this is an abomination."

It is a prohibition against sodomy- both homosexual and heterosexual

A few principles so the explanation that follows makes sense:
1) Since hebrew is a gender based language, everything is either masculine or feminine, but when the gender neutral is needed, the masculine is utilised.
2) The Torah utilises as concise language as possible, if extra words are used, it means there is something extra to be learnt from the passage. So, at all times, unless there is something extra to be learnt, the minimal language is used.

Now to the explanation:
The Torah wants to convey a prohibition against sodomy, the anal penetrative sex act. Whats the simplest way- refer to the one set of people that can ONLY have penetrative sex in such a manner- two men. After all, a mixed couple has the option of vaginal sex as well, and two women require an external device for the act, and it would be unclear what was forbidden, the act or the device. So it uses the example where it is clear what is being referred to.

That then leads to the next bit- one of the rules of biblical exegesis used by the rabbis is that a passage must be understood in relation to the passages surrounding it (the chapters/verses etc are a modern innovation- the Torah is written without chapters/verses or even punctuation!) Since the passages before this prohibition talk about forbidden sexual relationships between men and women, tis passage must be understood in that context- that the forbidden act here is not just in relation to homosexuality, but in relation to heterosexuality as well.

So it is a blanket prohibition on sodomy. It has nothing to do with prostitution, contaminating a woman's bed or pederasty. It also applies to everyone- those passages are not directed at a specific group. It also applies to non-Jews since refraining from sexual immorality (incest, sodomy, bestiality) is one of the seven Noahide laws.

No where. Man is the one that said its a sin.
You have to relize that the 1)the term homosexuality was coined till 1940s 2) The bible and its writers were controlling the masses (which leads to...) 3)They were more concerned with population and producing offspring not bagging the fellow sheep herder.
The bible was written 2000+ years ago for people of those times.

Homosexuality is a form of sexual immorality. In addition to the Leviticus scripture someone gave (which is OT), I would add all the NT scriptures on sexual immorality. Look especially at 1 Corinthians 6:9-20. Homosexuality is a sin, and v.9 states that anyone in the practice of homosexuality will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. God loves people, but cannot abide with sin in his kingdom.

Yes, it is in the Old Testament but it is also in the New. Paul speaks of it in Romans where he refers to it as 'unnatural' relations, specific to an area where he was talking about sexual immorality.

Most specifically the Bible talks about sex between males being forbidden.

Lev. 18:22 - Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Rom. 1:26-27 - Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

1 Cor. 6:9 - Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders.


Whether one thinks of it as BS or not does not abolish the fact that yes, it IS in the Bible!!!

The bible and Christianity is just a way in which to control the masses. Keeping that in mind, homosexuality is not a sin. Why should someone have a say in who someone else loves, and then judge them too? I don't think so.

You won't find an answer to that in the Bible, cuz no where does it say it in those words, and different people decide how they interupt the Bible, which is why there are so many hypocrites out there. No one has the right to judge you......it does say however, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone" Everyone in the world is born a sinner, so no one has the right to tell you that its wrong, and besides that even if it does say to stone your daughter to death if she is promiscuous, the new testament is where it says that people were going to stone Mary Mag to death and it was Jesus who said, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone"

Well I don't know what you think is b.s., that the Bible says it's a sin or that people say the Bible says it's a sin. I have to say that the Bible is very clear on the fact that homosexuality like all sex outside of marriage is sin.

Leviticus 20:13-If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? The practice of homosexuality is destructive to the human soul. God makes it clear that homosexuality is a sin (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Jude 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:10; Revelation 21:8). Supporting gay marriage is a sin because it means to support homosexuality and the perversion of Holy Matrimony. If a nation legalizes gay marriage, that nation will be cursed.

Homosexuality is caused by iniquity. Iniquities (tendencies that cause one to sin) pass down the generation line (Numbers 14:18). When one accepts Lord Jesus as their Saviour, God forgives their sins and removes their iniquities (evil tendencies) in the subsequent transformation process which makes one more and more like Christ.
