Atheism is only about accepting the fact that God doesn't actually exist.
Atheists may have other beliefs, for example they may be for or against gay marriage, or they may like to drink milk, but these things are not necessarily direct consequences of their atheistic beliefs.

You can't make blanket statements about atheists, any more than about any other group of people.
There are atheists who are homophobes and some who aren't; there are some who are racist and others who are not. Some are Democrats, some are Republicans. Some are more tolerant than others.
I am an atheist, and I would never have an abortion myself, but I don't condemn someone else who finds it to be the right choice for them.

Atheists do not have to believe anything. It is not that atheists believe that gay marriage is ok and abortion is ok. It is that atheists realize that we live in a world where other people hold other beliefs and that no matter what we believe on the issue our personal beliefs should not control other's lives. Theists, on the other hand, seem to believe that their belief in god should be used to control the behavior of those who do not share their belief in god.

Why would an atheist be required to believe anything? IT's not like atheists think God is going to smite them if they do not act a certain way, nor do they recognise any sort of atheistic hierarchy or officials. Atheists do not believe in God. Period. That's the only thing one can assume from someone being calling himself an atheist.

We're all different; there's no magic book telling us all what to think and what to believe.
Since religion is pretty much the only argument against gay marriage, practically no atheists have a problem with it.
Abortion is a loaded issue. Fetuses aren't babies, by the way; they're not conscious until about 20-22 weeks, IIRC.

No, it's not okay, okay? Just thinking of how gays do "it" makes me want to throw up. Abortions are not okay with me as well. Why get pregnant first and then kill, yes, kill the person?
Did I not say I am an Atheist? Well, now I said it.

No. You can believe that they are right or wrong.
You just can't believe it because 'god' says so, or just because it's written down in some bronze age text.
Nobody is in favor of killing babies. But the issue is whether a small mass of cells is a baby, and the relative value of that small mass of cells to the impact it will have on the lives of living humans.

Of course not, you can believe whatever you want. Some people like to lump values in with religious-only groups to make the nonreligious look bad. In reality we nonreligious can believe however we want on topics like these.
Personally I'm big on human rights, I'm not pro abortion, but I'm pro choice...it's up to the woman. As a guy I can't pretend to understand it beyond a growing lifeform.

That person is wrong. There really are no set rules to being an athiest past not believing in the Christian god/not having a religion. Believe what you want.

Atheists don't have to believe anything. It's not like there is some Atheist bible telling people how they have to think or feel.
The only thing Atheists have in common is that they do not believe in any gods. That's it.
