Scars don't go away. I have had close to 50 surgeries. Trust me, I have tried everything.

I don't think you can make the scar totally disappear, but you can make it less noticeable. Rubbing Vitamin E oil on a scar several times a day will help to diminish the scar. A friend of mine bought some cream to diminish stretch marks and used it on a scar. She said it works really well.

I worked for an honest Plastic Surgeon (for five years) and he always told people that there will always be a scar anytime the integrity of the skin is compromised (as in surgery or a severe injury). there are ways to minimize the appearance of scars or even to hide the scars. You can hide the scar in things such as face lifts or breast surgery; Plastic Surgeons hide them in the natural folds are creases of the skin. Compression garments can be worn after surgery to minimize scarring. Mederma is a brand name for a cream / lotion that works well.

A lot of scarring has to do with your natural body/skin type too. I had abdominal surgery and it turned out to be a raised scar that looks ugly. It is not important enough for me to spend money getting it revised but I would tend to avoid any type of facial cosmetic surgery because it seems as if my body scars easily. Many people keloid and this is results in raised and visible scars. These scars can be revised later but if your body tends to do that, there is a good chance that would happen again.

All we can do is follow the doctors instructions and be diligent in any treatment we used to minimize scarring.

Use Aloe Vera gel and Vitamin E gel on it everyday. It will take a little time depending on the size of the scar but it will be hard to see after a while.

Scars don't disappear but they will fade with the medication that is out there. Mederma seems to be the most recommended. Use it faithfully.

"They" can't. The scar can be minimized but not entirely made to go away. Maderma helps but the body's way of repairing it's self prevents this.
