I'm a combat vet. Whether I support or oppose current political decisions in no way affects my respect and love for those that choose to serve.

Most of the "new ex's" never served a second in combat, while practically every current service member has had several tours. Many of the retirees have civilian jobs dealing with the military. Many of them have attitudes that they are still in the military and try to boss troops around.
At the same time, they have great knowledge of garrison leadership skills. I can usually find a retired service member (one who isn't full of himself) and ask for advice. They will give the most sound advice that I've ever heard.

Im still gungho, and I got out of the army 2 1/2 years ago.... The real question is why have Liberals given up on those who do, or have served.... I would go back into service if I could...

I was gung-ho then and I'm gung-ho now.

Serving in the military, for many, opens their eyes and they see things in ways that those that never serve can never appreciate. Those that serve have an idea of what sacrifice is like and know that things in this world that are held precious sometimes have to be fought for.

Folks that have never served can have a hard time looking at the world without rose-colored glasses and think the people of the world should hold hands and "get along" just for the sake of "getting along".

Because the cynical and leery ones are the ones who cant seem to shut up.

The ones who have gotten out and dont have some type of resentment you never hear from.

@Blake it quite is the shittiest answer i've got ever heard and that i'm hoping which you do no longer advance into an officer with that terrible strategies-set. all human beings leads, all human beings follows and all human beings does **** artwork. officers get bitched out merely as much as enlisted and by some distance greater human beings. If a decrease enlisted guy ***** up, he might desire to get a speaking to from a Sergeant or he might desire to easily get informed "do no longer screw up lower back". If an officer screws up, he might desire to get a speaking to from his commander and that, my pal is awkward. As a decrease enlisted guy you may desire to accomplish a little info like cleansing up, mopping the floor and such. As an officer you will might desire to attend to a lot of subordinates and stand with them in front of the 1st sergeant or commander whilst they screw up royally. So, if I had a decision, i might scrub a rest room quite of being in contact in that form of difficulty. there's a lot extra stress on an officer. i might recommend you bypass in enlisted first and then see the way you like it. in case you like it, then attempt to advance into an officer. while you're enlisted for 4 years you will get a extensive pay bump over the final Lt and additionally you gets extra appreciate. you in all hazard won't spit out retarded issues like Blake too!

I would go back inif I could. I was supposed to commission, but a car accident and skin condition got me medically disenrolled in college. Remember, this isn't all vets on this, it is either those that are very proud of what they did, or guys who either have a grudge or had a bad experience.

You have alot of so called vets on here, never left CONUS or got kicked out in bootcamp.
The real vets feel a sense of brotherhood with the troops and support them and their mission.
Ready to reup at age 60.
Where do I sign?
