i think of the scandals are overblown, yet that a minimum of the 1st few allegations weren't fabricated. even however, as quickly as the scandal broke some allegations have been in all hazard the two fabricated or the products of "recovered reminiscence." And, I nonetheless are not getting how paying money directly to the victims of latest child intercourse abuse solves something for the sufferer . . . . yet as to accrued money procuring settlement, i'm unsure why everyone might have a subject with it. the place such abuse got here approximately, the finished community might desire to come at the same time to help the sufferer, even however the community isn't straight away to blame for the predator's movements. And no, i'm no longer Catholic.

The Church as an extension from Jesus and his Apostles is still "one and true." Unfortunately, the Church is both divine and human. The human side is all too often open to evil (Aren't we all at one time or another? Catholics and Protestants, Democrats and Republicans, etc.). History shows many instances of the human side of the Church getting in the way. And yet, 2000 years later, in spite of the human side, it still struggles towards heaven, and with faith we hang on and hope. Doesn't that say a lot for the patience of the Divinity??

Over 1500 years of collecting money based on lies, trust me they have the money. Im sure they will pass the basket around a couple of more times and their followers will have them back up and running in about 3 weeks.
Its a sad day when you cant be protected in the house of the Lord.
Which is why I say why not pray at home if you want to be spiritual

No it isn't funny. But it shouldn't be a surprise either. God's one true Church was founded by Him for sinners. If its members were not sinners, His Church would not be necessary. The same is true of all other churches. When will they take the same aggressive measures the Catholic Church has taken, to root out and address the same problem among their clergy?

Back in the late '70's, one man from Spain wrote a letter to the vatican because of the problem. They but all booted him out of the church because of it. He even wrote a book about it, among other things.
To claim that the vatican hasn't know of this problem for years would be nothing less than a lie from hell itself. The vatican has know of this problem for HUNDREDS of years! THE REASON the vatican doesn't do anything about it is because IT DOESN'T CARE--it never has! You American catholics' have been played for fools for years! And your only belief is that former catholics' and Christians alike are just being mean to you for telling you such things? I really feel sorry for you people--I really do. But rather than face the facts head on, you claim that these rapist are just being human? Now, who's kidding whom?
"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Corinthians 4:4
Go to this website and scrool down about a third of the way and read the comment about Boys Town, the famous Catholic boys' orphanage founded by "Father" Flanagan (played by actor Spencer Tracy in the classic movie). Learn what really happen to boys in the hands of "g"od's (satan) "one true church"!
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Sodomy/homosexuality_is_a_sin.htm
Why does the "mainstream press" condemn the Catholic Church for allowing predatory homosexuals to destroy the lives of boys, while simultaneously condemning the Boy Scouts of America for not allowing precisely the same thing in their organization? Something to ponder!
The catholic church has never been, nor never will be God's "one true church". It's own history proves it.

Funny in the sense of odd, yes. Yet they still hold the pretense to being the one true church. Perhaps that is the very reason why the pope declared that all other churches are false. Perhaps they don't create enough child abusers.

Nope it is sad. You know other churchs have the same problems too but people seem to make catholics so much worse and they tend to publicly go after them more because of the money that they "have". Its funny how it was not a big deal 20 years ago, but after one person received money for it then everyone was getting molested by priests. Sick if you ask me.

To me, it's sad that the Catholic church misconstrued that bible passage to justify all of their actions. The Greek meaning of "church" is not a set of rituals, or a building, or a type of worship, or tradition. "Church" actually means the body of true believers, whether they are in Africa or America. The "one true church" is Christ's body - so anyone who is truly following Christ is part of His body. Jesus never meant for the Catholic "church" to usurp that title and apply it exclusively to themselves. That is spiritual arrogance and they will be judged for it. Hence the $660 million in fines. Hopefully God will use this cleanse and purify their understanding.

Yeah, it's got that lovely irony! So tough it must be, to be medieval in a modern world. God's one true bank account can handle it, though...
(not laughing about the sexually abused kids tho)
