New vet, now! Your dog needs to have his tummy x-rayed to see if there's something in there that shouldn't be. Dogs will eat the craziest things for no good reason. Spare change, the twisties from bread wrappers, rocks, not to mention any kind of bug or plant matter it can get it's paws on. It's hard to pet proof a home, and they are sneaky little devils. Lose your keys lately?
Seriously, the vet needs to x-ray him. If that doesn't provide the cause, I'd suggest blood-work to rule out diseases. Don't delay! If your dog can't keep anything down, he's in serious danger of dehydration. "Settling his stomache" isn't the issue. Finding out what's going on is the issue. Good luck!

If your vet sent you home with no medications and no ideas on the reason for vomiting you need to find a new vet. Specifically ask for centrine or something designed to settle upset stomachs for dogs. If diarrhea begins along with the vomiting and his appetite is supressed get him to a vet right away. Be sure he is drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated. If the problem persists, contact me!! We will figure somthing out for you, or let me know what your vet says. If he is under a year and hasn't had 4 (FOUR!!!!!) Distemper/Parvo combo vaccinations, he may still be susceptible to getting it, and if so, it is VITAL you get him back to your vet - Good luck

Go to a different vet. Have them to an ultra sound of his stomach to find out what is going on. Good luck!

I agree get another vet... However, you still have to feed your dog. Try feeding him rice maybe a bit of poached chicken (cooked in water) so it's soft.. That might settle his stomach.. Also, give him plenty of water..

try a bland diet. this consist of white rice, white chicken meat and cottage cheese. i would also go to another vet and run the diet past them as well.
My dog ate a stink bettle (well that's what the vet thought) and he pucked for a day but that was it. so it may be something else.

Definitely take him to another vet and try to figure out what's going on ASAP--the more serious it gets the more expensive!!!
It could be so many different things. Could he have swallowed something that was too big to "pass through"?

Feed him cooked rice for a few days. Make sure he gets plenty of water so that he doesn't become dehydrated. Change vets.

ANOTHER VET, NOW!!!! Time is of the essence. Occasional vomiting is one thing, but chronic needs a vet that CAN figure it out ASAP...and the one that does deserves all your future business, as do your critters deserve his expertise.

Yellow Pages --> Vet --> SECOND OPINION!!!
Suggestions right now:
Bread. (small amounts)
Water. (small luke-warm amounts)
Lay on his side on a soft surface.
Get him to another vet though.
