I work at our local Wal-Mart, and I work as a sales floor associate in apparel so it is my job to provide good customer service. Our manager is very concerned when it comes to our customers, but he also understands when they just want to pick a fight with us and want to complain that we are not doing our jobs correctly.

My main manager loves when I get compliments, and wrote me a performance sheet slip thing. It means you did good, and you get put in a raffle. If customers complain he hears us out, and he is aware some people use me as a scapegoat because I'm young. There have been times where he knew a customer was lying. Like they claim they ordered something (fish department), but they either called another store, or lied all together.

Your job is customer satisfaction, customer comments
reflect how successful you are . They definitely will
effect your boss' evaluation.

I think it does to a certain point. I think too many negative comments could get you fired or some other kind of disciplinary action, and a lot of positive ones could get you a raise or award.
