Cat food does not have the right nutrition for dogs and can harm their kidneys. Maybe try a really good quality food. Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. "Vet approved" means they have a vet on staff to approve their product. In other words, someone paid to approve it. Same with foods most vets recommend. Salesmen "gift" vets then the vet recommends the food. Most vets are not nutritionalists! Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. Cats by nature eat much smaller portions than dogs do. Eating cat food will give him the basic nutrients to survive, but will also contain about triple the amount of fats and protein he really needs, which will lead to obesity and eventual bad health (for a human, that's a lot like adding a supersize big mac meal from mcdonalds to your diet IN ADDITION to all the food you already eat every day, even if it's healthy!)
Also, you don't say whether you feed him wet or dry cat food, but dogs must eat dry food...to subsist entirely on wet canned can lead to bad teeth.
But don't drastically and suddenly change your dog's diet; do it gradually. Start him out with about 1/4 portion of the new food mixed with 3/4 portion of cat food for 3 days. Then increase the portion to 1/2 each over 3 more days, then 3/4 new food and 1/4 cat food for three more days, and finally switch to the new dog food. This will ensure his system has time to adjust.

It's OK to give her a treat of cat food once in a while, but dogs have different foods because cats need more protein, whereas dogs need some veg and carbs too. So cat food has different ingredients. Too much protein and lipids may harm your dog in the long run. Perhaps if you mix a little bit of cat food in her dog food? But the best is to teach her not to be so picky about her food, there must be at least one good dog food she likes!

Never let your dog eat cat food its not made for dog!!!! Talk to your vet and see what food he suggests.
I give mine Royal Canin & my moms dog who is SUPER PICKY LOVES IT!!!! If you stop giving her the cat food and just leave out the dog food she will eat it when she get hungry enough. If you have the cat food because you have a cat to feed the cat when the dog is outside or put the cat in the bathroom & close the door or put the food on the counter or table where the cat can jump up and get to it & not the dog. If you kennel your dog at night feed your cat then . Thats what I do. good luck I hope this helps.

Cat food is much higher in fat than dog food. Not only will your dog put on weight, but the lipids in her blood will rise, which is not good. Don't let her eat cat food as a steady diet. It wasn't designed for her.

Your dog has you perfectly trained! She can and did hold out for the cat food. You need to put your foot down and give her only the dog food, nothing else! She will not starve to death. Sooner or later, she will give in and eat the dog food.

I would double check with a vet. I would think there would be different vitamins and nutrients in cat food that may not be very good for a dog. Or maybe not enough nutrients a dog.

You really should feed cat food to dogs. If she is not really into the dog food you feed, you may need to change to a higher quality food like Welness, Timber Wolf Oganic, Canidae, etc. Not pro plan, Bentiful, Iams, or Science Diet. I like to add a little Merrick wet dog food to my dogs food.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tinyurl.im/zdWBg
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

It is very difficult to train a dog if you do not have the proper dog training equipment. The right piece of equipment, when properly fitted, helps aid in communication between you and your pet.
Leather Dog Collars, Harnesses, and Leashes
Basic training equipment that every owner needs is a leather dog collar and a dog leash. When you are placing the collar on your pet, you will want to make sure that it is snug enough that it won't slide over your dog's head should they balk, but it isn't so tight that it is restricts their ability to breathe.
Every time you put the collar on your dog, you need to check the fit. Puppies grow, and older dogs can gain and lose weight as well, which will also impact how the collar fits. In addition to making sure that the collar fits properly, you will want to check to make sure that the buckle isn't showing signs of strain, that the stitching is good, and that the leather hasn't developed dry rot.
Many people also like to have a leather dog harness for their dog. Many dog owners feel that a dog harness is more secure, and also provides better control than a traditional dog collar. The harness allows you to move the dog's entire torso, as opposed to simply jerking on the neck when you need the dog to stop or heel.
Knowing How to Properly Use Dog Training Equipment
Knowing the type of equipment that you need is only part of the dog training experience. You also need to know how to properly use it. The best way to make sure that you are using the equipment properly is by signing up for a dog obedience course.
The great thing about dog obedience courses is that you will be working with someone who knows how dog training equipment works, and they will also be able to offer tips and suggestions about what you can do when you and your pet seem to be having communication issues. It is important to note that if you have a pet that tends to be aggressive, whether towards other dogs or people, the instructor might suggest that your dog wear a dog muzzle. This will allow the other dog owners in the surrounding environment to feel more secure, and may also prevent the outbreak of a fight from ensuing between your dog and other dogs in the class.
Advanced Dog Training Options
As your pet gets older, you may decide to explore more training options. Once a dog has mastered basic obedience, there are several different options available to you. Some people decide that they want to teach their puppy how to move through obstacles, and then later go on to compete in agility classes.
Some people even decide to learn more about having their dog certified to be a search and rescue dog. If you decide that you want to pursue a specific type of advanced dog training, you will be required to purchase additional dog training equipment that is applicable for your specific needs.
The exact type of equipment that you and your dog will need will depend on the type of training you pursue. For example, if you are hoping to utilize your dog as a means of protection, chances are highly likely that any attack dog training equipment that you will need will be entirely different from the majority of the training tools that you would purchase for agility training.
When you have the proper dog training tools, and have been educated about how they should be used in the proper manner, you will find that training your canine family member is much easier than you would expect.
