I am currently looking on petfinder but also looking for give aways too...I do want one that doesn't need to be groomed by a professional and just may need to be brushed. I have a yorkie, but this dog would be for my dad...he really wants one...and it doesn't matter if it's a mutt or not :)

I have a short-haired chihuahua. He is 3yrs old and only weighs 5 pounds. He is very easy to take care of. He is a really good dog!

My best guess is the smooth coat Chihuahua. It doesnt need grooming but also u should check out animal shelters or rescues for small dogs

P.S. dont buy a puppy from a pet store search for a rescue or reputable breeder. Check here

We have a pug! They are great! Great with familys.. and really dont need grooming at all.. their fur is so short.. Good luck!! Pugs are small dogs as adults.. generally from about 15-20 pounds full grown!

miniature dachshunds stay small and puppy-like in their face. Geton whose parents look athletic and they will stay in shape with proper diet and decrease back problems. Very sweet dogs.
There are other breeds, but in my OPINION, most are either too hyper, long hair, need grooming regularly, or typically mean. If you dont mind longer hair, peek-a-poos, pekingese, pomeranians, they are all cute. The new miniature pomeranians stay looking 6 weeks old their entire lives!! But be prepared to pay!

Go to your local animal shelter and tell them you want a small dog that don't need to be groomed. We got one from our local humane society and she is a chihuahua min pin mix and she doesn't need to be groomed or brushed.

A beagle. Their small, don't need grooming, and have short hair. They don't shed alot of hair and don't need to be groomed by some professional. They are better than those rat dogs and alot easier to take care of than Shi tus.

Well my personal fav is the "hot dog" but the chinese crescent is the smallest of them all and have almost no fur.. Most think they are disgusting but i love em..
If you don't like that then try a toy chihuahua or a corgi.. (very cute puppies) ... umm you can also try a mini pincher.. but dont over feed.. they can get FAT.. those are very easy to maintain..

good luck

chihuahua, cairn terriers, miniature pinscers, west highland terrier, norfiolk/norwich terrier, pugs, italian greyhound, corgi, dachshund

if not much grooming means that they don't need to be trimmed by a professional every month, then pomeranians miniature eskimo dogs, and pappillions are okay too.

Find a small short haired dog at the shelter.
The estimate is that there are ten thousand people born in the U.S. every day and SEVENTY THOUSAND puppies and kittens are born EVERY day! Please don't be part of the problem......get a dog from a shelter.

Jack Russell Terrorists are great little dogs. Especially if you have the energy to keep up with them.
